I went to Helios here and had a lovely time looking at fabric! I got exactly what I needed and the woman there was an absolute gem of a human! My son went to the library upstairs and got a couple books. He enjoyed speaking with the woman working there and learning some history as she'd seen it. If we'd had more time, I'd have explored more places within the center. I highly recommend checking Helios and the library out!

Cool selection of eclectic shops in an old school. The local theater company also performs in the old auditorium. Be sure to check out the pop-up market that happens a few times a year. Coffee, flowers, soaps, meats, crafts and even handcrafted botanicals all made my local folks.

The old school has been turned into a group of shops. The owners are very friendly. Such a unique grouping...love all the shops here. Often there is also a farmer's market in the old school gym also. Within walking distance of so many other little shops and great places to eat.

There are so many shops here, but one of my favorite is Helios,the bright quilt shop. They carry SUE PENN!!! Lots of bright fabric and a fantastic color wall. I couldn't resist one of the precut panels, and got snagged by some of the many sale bolts in the hall. They are SO professional, friendly and helpful, and matched my panel colors with perfect coordinates. They have perfect panel patterns too!
It was busy yesterday. A lot of very happy shoppers were leaving with smiles on their faces and little bags.
And....... !!!
Blooming Acres- an AMAZING flower-gift quilt fabric shop. Don't underestimate the effect flowers have when gifted for any occasion. SO many ideas in this comprehensive shop. Becca even has an extraordinary collection of quilting fabrics, including IOWA collegiates! She has so many to choose from and has classes for all ages. She's very helpful and works with high school students, effectively mentoring them.

Park in the huge parking lot out back.
Easy access, a couple of steps.
Great lighting and and clean facility. Well worth the trip! Check it out!

I went there to see a play " And then there were none " I love the idea of turning an old school into classes and shops,better then plowing them down... anyway the play is why I gave this place 5 stars the act and actors..WOW !!!!! what a wonderful , wonderful, wonderful acting job each and everyone of them did !! They all portrayed their characters to a T... well done, & Bravo
