A nice small park and campground right on the lake! My wife and I had a great time camping here. Only bad part was annoying neighbor campers, but not something the park has to do with!

The park ranger here was extremely friendly and helped out right away if we needed something.

Kinda basic for a MN state park. Not much for trails or amenities. It feels like it is forgotten or neglected in the park system. Has a decent day use area and campground along the lake. It has boat access and some decent views and vistas in otherwise bland area of the state. If you want to stay on Big Stone lake go across to the other side. Hartford Beach park on the SD side looks to be a way better option for this lake.

This is a beautiful place to camp, right on the Minnesota river. The staff was friendly and helpful and the facilities were clean. Very well kept. I will highly recommend this State Park.

It has a nice boat launch but only 6 or 7 parking spots. The fishing was good straight out from the park. The office employee was very nice and helpful. The campground looks nice also, but I didn't camp here. Lots of deer and pheasants.

We are trying to do all the state parks and this one fell a little short. Only because there wasn't much hiking for us to do. They only have like two trails and it's in the open field. They are pretty and the camper grounds look very clean. But for us the trails are important.

Ok stay. Geared towards fishing. $23 a night for non-electric. Electric sites available too. Nice sites with views of the lake are non-electric. Flush toilets and showers available.

Campsite was beautiful, right on the lake. But the lake smelled like sewage and was bright green. The swimming beach was covered with seaweed and algae. Despite my best judgment my kids and I tried swimming and it was gross - smelly and the water felt. . . thick. There were very few trails and nowhere to bike so we got bored without swimming. as an option. We did enjoy a lovely sunset and stargazing later, which is the only reason this park garnered a 2nd star.

Not great for a family or hiking. We went to just get away and there are only 2 hiking trails each a mile long. One bathroom for two campgrounds. The drinking water was slightly brown. No staff the day we arrived (4pm) so we couldn't buy firewood. Bugs are terrible. Kids got bored pretty quick. Swimming beach had alot of people fishing so not much room for kids. This is a great place for those who want to fish. Lots of great fishing going on. But lots of people including the host were cleaning fish at their campsites, bringing in lots of flies. Not kid friendly. No playground or places for kids to explore. The dump station needs up grading. This campground feels like the State forgot it existed.
