Went there to see "Silent Movies Made Musical", which consisted of three silent films set to live music by The Danbury Vaudeville Orchestra- IT. WAS. AMAZING. "The Immigrant" (1917) starting Charlie Chaplin, "Take a Chance" (1918) starring Harold Lloyd, and "The Idle Class" (1921) again starring Chaplin. Not only were the movies timelessly funny, but the music was SUPERB! They are an amazing 9 piece orchestra who played live while the movies were playing, much like the old movie houses used to have an accompanying piano player or other instrumental pairing. They arranged the music themselves, and followed some well-known composers work, as well as some others that I was not as familiar with.

The Palace Theatre is an absolute gem. The outside of the building is relatively unassuming, but once making it through the doors, unsuspecting visitors walk directly into a time machine! From the old camera and film reel on display in the hallway near the entrance and ticket booth, to the full size posters displayed on the walls; walk through another set of doors and descend down a plush carpeted ramp to arrive at the most amazing space! A grand lobby with a period-perfect chandelier, a balcony (which was not open for the show I was seeing), and bathrooms complete with large powder rooms and beautiful antique furniture! All dimensions of The Palace were carefully planned, from the carpets to the intricate and colorful moulding on the large columns that grace the lobby and the theatre proper. The Danbury Music Centre lovingly maintains the theatre, and absolutely succeeds in transporting patrons into the glory days of the Silver Screen, wrapped in the decadence and excitement of 1930s theatre glamour.

Stunning setting, amazing orchestra, and an experience I will surely remember into my own time as an "antique". Undoubtedly a destination to put on your bucket list!

Beautiful restored old fashioned theatre host a myriad of interesting talks , shows , bands. It’s fun to hunt around for some nice places to eat before or after the show. I checked out DANBURY TALKS, where Mental Health issues are discussed by professionals in the field! Good stuff!

Very cool older theater, helpful and friendly staff, very good sound. Bathrooms are clean but insufficient size. The bar was limited and closed halfway thru the band's set- i tipped the bartender generously- he should've given me a heads up about closing time. Hanging out with the band post show could've used an adult beverage.

I love going to see shows, bands, comic acts and acts I haven't even dreamed of yet. Small venue so every seat is GREAT.

Saw show there with my mother on Sat Sept 11. The staff was great, the seats were great. The had a cash bar in the lobby so you could enjoy a drink during the show. Very comfortable seating. Not a bad seat in the house. Would definitely go again. Brings back many memories of seeing movies there as a kid. Beautiful old theater.

Was here to see Just Call Me Bill. Nice old theatre which is being renovated. Free parking available. They need to do a better job on concessions

Although it's a nice old theater & the staff/volunteers are amazing, the stage is much too small. We saw "Elvis" there, and he & his band/backup singers were crammed up there. Actually, for some guests, they couldn't see the backup singers as they were hidden behind a huge speaker. And the sound system needs work, too. Probably won't go there again for these reasons.
