Walked in for lab and X-ray- very little wait time. Mona in X-ray is always excellent! Christy in lab - excellent efficient care. So glad we have this hospital in our community.

Very disappointed and disrespected by most of the ER staff that was working Thursday morning, Sept 5th. There was one nurse, and I’m so sorry I did not get her name, that actually treated me like a human being and gave me sincere words and guidance. The rest talked to me like I was dumb and treated me even worse. I was in the ER twice that day crying literally bawling in pain and agony and no one even sent a caring look or tender gesture. They told me it was a viral cold and there was not much they could do for me. Gave me a shot for the pain that last two hours and an inhaler, when I told them I could not breath, I had chest pain and whole body pain, & it had been going on for four days!! I am a regularly healthy person that is on their feet more than 16 hours per day and I knew this was not just a viral cold and I told them that as well!
Less than 24 hrs later went to another emergency room finally got all the right X-rays and tests that were needed to be done and told I have PNEUMONIA! Not a viral cold that will fix itself over time!!
Your emergency dept should be ashamed with how little they care for their patients in honest pain and discomfort. Never will return here.
That one nurse, you know who you are, you deserve to work somewhere much better!!!
Thank you!

Greetings everyone, I'm the Veteran that was mentioned in the previous review. I have palendromic rhumatism and scoliosis that confines me to a wheelchair half the time, also i have severe rhumatoid and Osteo- Arthritis especially in my hands im getting ready to have my knuckels replaced with metal ones and carpel tunnel surgury because i cant feel the fingers im my right hand. My right hand can barely be used but its my good hand because my left arm was blown off and reattached. Mainly for show because it cant be used at all. Thats why i asked my wife to help me with my shoes like she always does and that turns out to be reason enough for me to get the police called on me. At first i tried to tell my wife not to be so upset, that they were trying to make sure she was okay and stuff. But like she said i was laying in a private room with my pants down getting x-rays for however long, if they were worried about her they couldve asked her aside and asked if she was okay and look at her arms and head and wherever to see if she is hurt or bruised or whatever but instead they prefer to call they police on me. I asked the police to view the survelance video before the hospital deletes it i really hope they are able too. And lastly, we have been together over 18 years and this is the first time the police have ever been called on either of us. Thanks for your time.

We had a nightmare happen to us last night at this hospital.... My husband is a disabled veteran and was having a bad issue with one of his toes.... He has many illnesses that cause him serious pain everyday..... So his toe nail and fell off and was growing back and something got in his toe causing it to swell and becoming infected with yellow discharge and it was painful. He is prediabetic and we was worried about us doing care at home and he really needed antibiotics.....anyhow Vipul Kella was the attending physician and from the moment he came into my husband's room something was wayyyy off. He was being extremely cold to my husband and seemed irritated that he had to tend to my husband. After we told him exactly why he came to the ER he asked why did we wait until that time of night to be seen.... The reason was because it was later in the evening when it started giving him issues..... And it not only had discharge but a black area under the toenail. My husband sensing Kella had a problem with him offered to put his shoe and sock on and leave.... After I informed them of my husband's meds list etc I went out to our van with our dog... A bit later my husband waved me inside to help put his shoes and socks back on(it's very hard for him to do this himself due to pain and not having feeling in his fingers to tie his shoes)..... Also we didn't come in search of pain meds etc bc my husband already has these types of meds.... Anyhow we left and went home. We get into our small town and notice TWO police cars are following us all the way home!!!!!!! Apparently the hospital staff(Dr.Kella) had called that towns police and they contacted our police and told them we was fighting and made it sound like my husband is a wife beater!!!! I first assumed the doctor had complained bc he offered to just put his shoes back on and leave,NOPE they was saying he was abusing me!!!! We never even raised our voices bc we get along so well that we might have 2 arguments a year if that. The police also must've been told my husband was on something or drinking bc they asked..... We don't drink and he only takes his meds as prescribed!!!! It was so embarrassing bc it was late and we had two cop cars outside our home and questioning us separately..... And living in a small town our neighbors could be thinking we're not good people!!!!! They had us out there for at least 30 minutes...... They then realized that's not what's happened and left. The bad news? We're still gonna have to speak to Garnett PD at some point!!!!!! For nothing bc nothing ever happened!!!!! At no time did hospital staff pull me aside while he was getting X-rays etc to inquire about anything!!!! No, the opt to embarrass the shit outta us!!!!! And my husband got substandard care and was treated badly by the doctor!!!!! Shame on them!!!! I honestly feel like contacting a lawyer over this!!!!!!

The staff in the ER has been amazing with us every time we have gone. They are fantastic working with my toddler and are very patient and thorough. I grew up always going to Ransom Memorial/Advent Health but after going to Anderson County Hospital, I will never go back to RMH/AH.

I do not recommend this hospital for your loved ones or beloved Veterans..they do not care and will kill you ... Rip Daddy. I will elaborate now that the shock is over.

We lifted my father everywhere he needed to go at this point in his health issues. An ambulance would take him this night to the hospital. Dr. Spears told my Dad he didn't have insurance, mind you he could NOT walk...his feet were swollen so were his legs and they cramped tight and he couldn't straighten them. He could not walk on his own. This Dr...hands my Dad's ID back to him and rolled him to the truck we brought my mom in...after telling my Dad, he needs testing but he can't do it without insurance. My Dad was a vet. This doctor did not notify VA to see about testing or treatments. He told my Dad he needed testing. Remember that...next is horrid...

He hands my dad back his ID, shoves him in a wheelchair...and rolls him to our truck, we asked my Dad what his diagnosis was, he said to us 3, I don't know Dr Spears said I need testing but I have no insurance. I went to bat for my Dad...I knew he had insurance ...he was a vet. So I said no, he has insurance ...give him the testing. This is outside early morning hours, Dr Spears ignored us...called for 2 orderlies, nurses or someone from inside the hospital ..loaded my dad in a hemi Dodge truck forcefully shoving him in our vehicle as my dad screamed out in pain.

Dr Spears didn't listen to my Dad..nor his pain he caused him..he shoved him in the truck shut the door and walked inside.

This was early July 4th 2021..... exactly 21 days later my father would die in his home in front of my mother, married 50 years. My father vowed never to return to this hospital again. He would die at home first and he did just that...painfully. Cause of death ..blood clot to the heart. Now tell me again....why didn't this Dr see my father's issue as precedence for additional testing...or even call VA to see about insurance ..or send him to VA. They chose none of that ..that Dr..chose none of that...

Less than 2 months later...this hospital sends a bill in my mother's name ..for my father of over 1,000.00 to my mother. Yes ..this Dr...then expected my mother to pay a bill for my father, insured of course...my mother. For what? Killing my father? Forgetting about his oath taken to save lives....naw ..this Dr....is the worse Dr ever. The fact this hospital has employed him for late night ER visits....should keep many of you away from this hospital. He has never...ever had a bed side manner but this was the lowest I have ever seen this Dr go...and all at the expense of my father's life.

No.....this hospital will not receive payment for shoving my father back into my vehicle and sending him home to die, cruelly. Imagine had he performed the test...and they could dissolve the clot...or if he had called VA, told them he was there and would they authorize testing or transport...I imagine that every day for 10 months now. My father died cause he was too afraid to be sent back to that hospital, to a Dr...who blatantly refused life saving testing to my beloved father. My mother watched him die ..I watched wonderful EMTs check on my dad all day the day of his death and he refused to be transported back to that hospital. Now...you know. ....do not bring your loved ones here.

If I could give negative stars I would. Worst hospital experience possible. I was brought in to ER with a broken shoulder. When The ambulance arrived the EMT took a lot of extra time to look over my entire house. I was home alone when I fell off a latter so why was this guy looking my house over? The doctor on duty yelled at me for not understanding what she said immediately. The nurse left the room door open while the same EMT who looked over my house stared fixedly at me for an extended period of time from the hallway. It was creepy and a little scary. I was quite and undemanding during the entire visit while praying my husband would pick me up before things got weirder.

Have only been to this hospital once, but it is very nice. It was great to get Saint Luke's service, without driving all the way to Kansas City. I only had a routine preventive check done, so I can't speak to the other services. As to the reviews complaining about not releasing personal information over the phone, that's pretty standard for most any hospital, due to privacy laws.
