The Animal Inn is a fabulous kennel. The staff and owners treat your pets like they are their own. Recently my pup had swallowed a rock (at my home and I didn’t know this before I had brought him in for boarding). The staff knew something was wrong and called me. I was out of town and they asked where they should bring him (which vet office) the owner of the kennel brought him to the U of M for me and waited with him (in the evening) until my plane landed and I was back in town. That was above and beyond and I appreciate the awareness the staff had with my pup. I highly recommend Animal Inn and recommend them 100%! They are wonderful!

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the trainers and staff at Animal Inn for their exceptional service. Our six-month-old Australian Shepherd participated in a two-week board and train program, and we were impressed by the staff's professionalism and dedication. The regular updates on Facebook and prompt responses to our inquiries kept us informed of our dog's progress. The transformation from a shy and rambunctious puppy to a well-behaved companion is remarkable, and we attribute this success to the staff's expertise and hard work. We are deeply appreciative of their outstanding care and training.

Animal Inn is the absolute best!!! The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable. Our dog, Ollie, gets so excited when we pull into the parking lot and loves coming to daycare! We’ve also boarded Ollie here and we could tell he was well taken care of and had the best time. I can’t say enough great things about this facility! The staff really care about your pet as their own.

Update: Romy started showing signs of a UTI early in her stay and the amazing staff immediately notified us, made an appointment with our vet to get her seen and took her to the vet for an exam! I honestly cannot say enough about how caring, kind and professional everyone has been. They picked up her prescriptions and made sure she was on the mend. We picked up a happy, healthy pup when we returned. Amazing experience!

We’ve been sending our nervous, reactive, ten-year-old rescue pup here since 2019 and always have such an amazing experience with boarding and grooming. All the staff treat us and our pup with patience, kindness and respect and we have no hesitation when it comes to dropping her off for her stay. I was very hesitant to make this review because the staff that helped us were super friendly, but I need to let this business know how disappointed we were after picking up our dog. First, when we got to the car we realized something smelled really bad, it turns out this place doesn’t clean after your dog if they have an accident or a bad stool. My poor dog had poop all over her butt and we got her groomed the day before so you would think they would have the common decency to make sure your dog is clean. Lastly, our dog developed a cough this morning, which was my final straw. My dog is all up to date on her vaccines so thankfully she will be okay. Please beware before sending your dog here, do your research, and make sure your dog is up to date on their vaccinations if you do decide on sending your dog here.
UPDATE: The owner reached out and assured me it would not happen again, I understand the risks of boarding your dog and after a lot of reconsideration I realized that they do more than most boarding places. The fact that they require the influenza vaccine is a big deal and gives me peace of mind. My dog will be okay all thanks to vaccines.

This was the first time we have boarded our pup. Every staff member we encountered was very friendly and seemed to genuinely care about the pets, which is comforting. Since this was our first time, we first stopped in without our pup to find out more about the facility and what we needed to do as parents. I asked if we needed a "meet and greet" and the response was "no". There are play packages available, which I made a follow up call to clarify. I asked if we needed a play package, and the response was again "no"; those packages are encouraged for pets that are in the suites, or are otherwise segregated from the other fur guests. After these two exchanges, we decided to board our boy.
When we showed up, we were informed he would not get play time because an assessment was required before our pup would be able interact with other guests, which is completely understandable. However, we feel this should have been communicated more uniformly across the staff. While we were disappointed that he wouldn't get to play with other fur pals, we decided to board him anyway.
He came home happy and seemed well taken care of. Despite our initial experience, we intend to return to Animal Inn Pet Resort and Spa, after an assessment, because the staff made us feel so comfortable. Hopefully next time we can give a 5 star rating!

UPDATE: Animal Inn contacted me after my review was posted. They appreciated my concerns and addressed them with grace and professionalism. Their communication went a long way in retaining our business because it showed how much they care. We'll be back!

What a wonderful place to bring my English Setter to for 9 days. She had never spent more than 3 nights away from me in her 6 years and she did great. She must have been really happy as she headed back in as we were leaving instead of rushing out the door. Great care plus she got groomed and looks great! I would highly recommend Animal Inn Pet Resort and Spa. Penny will definitely be back❤️🐾
