If I could give a zero star or negative star I would. Me and my significant other tried to return a dog to them as we cannot give her enough attention that we think she deserves and needs. She also intimidates our other animals and they’ve barely ate because they’re scared. The worker over the phone was very rude and said “we are full. There will be no openings for a while. just keep the dog.” We told the worker about the situation and she became incredibly rude, even more than she already was being. For an animal shelter who is supposed to care for animals, they clearly don’t. They also euthanize their animals there for NO reason. Save your money and go to a no kill shelter such as bowling green/warren county humane society where they actually CARE about the animals.. unlike these crooks.

Waste of tax dollars. Not only are they rude They don’t deserve the title animal shelter. They won’t take animals because they don’t have room for them. But they won’t let you adopt an animal for less than $145. If they actually cared about the animals they would lower their prices to make it easier for people to get an animal and make more room to take in more. These are your public servants people and if we keep ignoring the problem the place will never change. I’m support a complete re-staff and complete overhaul of their system and practices. Maybe then they will realize they work for the people that live in this county instead of speaking and treating us like pheasants who are an inconvenience to them. Needs to be addressed by someone that has the capacity to make the place better and what it should be.

We have adopted 2 different dogs here before and they are both adorable and well adjusted to the farm we live on so we decided to try and adopt a third. Unfortunately this third one we adopted only lasted 2 months before she suddenly decided to attack one of our cats. Fortunately nothing fatal, but seeing the dog thrashing one of our own is not something we want. As we were checking for any serious injury she even tried to attack another. This confirmed that it was not going to work with this one and we would bring her back to the shelter. However, as we had brought her back a member of staff tried to refuse stating there was no room. While understandable, we could not bring her back with us as she was now a danger to our other pets. Fortunately something was worked out and they agreed to take her, but not before that first member of staff felt like putting us on a guilt trip by telling another family next to us, who had just adopted, asking is loud voice, making sure we could all hear, if they were "100% sure" that they understood that adopting should be permanent and that it is cruel to the animal if you return it as they are "like a baby and will not understand". While we were already upset at returning her as my wife was giving this dog one last hug and crying on the floor, they apparently did not believe our reason and were treating us terribly while we were doing the best that we could. We have 3 dogs. Again, 2 were adopted from this shelter. And we love them dearly and this was why we felt confident adopting a 3rd. Unfortunately not every animal adjust the same. We chose to bring her back and give her another chance at a family that would work better for her. I can understand staff being frustrated, but making us to look like the worst despite doing what was best for the animal and our other pets is absolutely ignorant, disrespectful, and we will not be back.

I adopted my dog here back in 2013 and my cat from here just last year. I still have them both and they're as happy and healthy as can be. The staff is always super friendly and genuinely cares about their animals. I highly recommend adopting from them.

These are the most unprofessional, rude. & unfriendly people I have encountered in a long time . They need to be replaced immediately. If they treat people this poorly what is happening to the animals coming into this facility.

Since moving to the area several years ago, my husband and I visit the shelter from time to time just to love on all the fur babies needing new furever homes. In June we finally adopted a new member in our family. We are Rustler's new parents. His name is Bodhi now & this boy....he is an absolute angel!!!! Stole our hearts day one!! He fell in perfect with our three dogs immediately & has already closely bonded with one of them. Our shelters are full of so many amazing family members that NEED GOOD HOMES.

PLEASE ADOPT, DON'T SHOP.

Staff has always been friendly, kind, and courteous. We have always found the facility to be clean & animals kept in good conditions. It is abundantly apparent they care and take pride in what they do!!!
Thank you BRAWA for all you do🙏

I found a little black lab pup in the wallmart parking lot who was infested with fleas and ticks I took her home got her cleaned up next day took her to the vet got her dewormed and treated for fleas and ticks with my own money and I came to the decision with me being 6 months pregnant that I couldn't handle a little pup along with a newborn and my two cats. It absolutely killed me to give her up she was the sweetest little thing. I took her up to brawa and before I could even get a sentence out they snatch the dog from me didn't let me say bye or give me ANY information about her or what would happen with her. I was already bawling my eyes out and the two ladies were so rude to me absolutely uncalled for. If I could go back I would have kept her or at least brought her somewhere else that I could at least find more comfort in giving her up. If I ever come across another rescue I will NOT bring them here.
