A fun little museum that is great to check out in Ortonville, MN! It was cool to see some of the old buildings, machines, the boat, and even Paul Bunyan's boat anchor! We were both amazed at how nice the inside of some of the buildings were.

The inside area was closed when we went (must have been off season).

Staff friendly and happy to share what they know about the exhibits and the area. We had Larry as our guide. Lots of interesting things to look at. Nice antiques, a mini carnival, cars, farm equipment. Large collection of taxidermy birds & other animals. Old school house had great things to read & see.

We stopped in Ortonville on our way home from South Dakota and decided to stop in at the museum for a moment to stretch our legs. 5 stars! So many interesting items donated by community members. Our kids loved the train and carnival toys. My husband and I LOVED the man in charge of the facility- Larry. He was knowledgeable and helpful in answering all of our questions. Wonderful roadside museum.

Visited on a day the museum was closed, but greatly enjoyed the outdoor exhibits. Never realized that I wanted to see Paul Bunyan’s boat anchor. Kudos to the local individuals responsible for creativity and a sense of humor.

Top flight local museum. Easy access and plenty of parking. Outstanding collection of farm life items in the main building. Octagonal school house. Amazing collection of ducks and arrowheads

Very good place to learn of the history of the Ortonville area. Larry and his crew gas gone to great extreme to maintain and keep the place interesting. Also hosts various community events at the museum.
