Went to see a Wash DC local ska-punk band Kill Lincoln at the Black Cat a couple weeks ago and had the best time. My friend and I brought our high school sons with us and heaved them into the punk mayhem.. 😅. We all had a fantastic time thanks to the Black Cat venue, the guy in the banana outfit, & the masterclass in punk that wrecked the house - Half Past Two, Omnigone, & one of my new favorites The Maka Sticks. The masses at the show rolled some crowd surfing throughout all the acts and it was just the best vibe all night. Not too packed, & bar tenders were super cool, which made it a good casual feel at the same time for us watching from the wings. Thanks so much for the experience. We will be back!

What a great small concert venue! Good sound, every spot is a good place to watch bands. Once you get addicted to small venues like the Black Cat you'll never want to go to a big venue again. Saw the Linda Linda's here just saw Mark Robinson (Unrest) and will see Bob Mould.

Fantastic.

Took my 14 year old here for a Ska concert. Great environment. Clean, safe and well staffed.

Shows start about an hour after doors open.

A soda is 3 bucks

Their website says they’re partnered with spothero parking. Several patrons going to the concert used this method to get parking at the nearby garage on U street. They don’t accept that application’s parking purchase. I had to pay for double parking. Still working on getting refunded.

I saw Pig Destroyer live there. I gotta say it was a very fun and cool show. I'm glad that the venue offers free water for gursts. The only thing i didn't really like was how there's no stage diving or crowd surfing allowed, but it is what it is. Overall, it was a great venue in the DC area

This is my favorite venue in the DC region; it’s smaller than it used to be, but it still has the red room and the main venue, and tons of great acts. I enjoy the Punk Rock karaoke nights, which are always for a good cause. Definitely worth hitting up anytime you’re in DC.

A fantastic venue for local and touring shows. I’ve been able to see some of my favorite bands here. Tickets are often affordable and there is plenty of room to get a good view.
There are also seats available at the sides.
Kind staff at the bar.
Great food and drink options surrounding the venue for a complete night.
