Came with my children and almost 9 year-old and a five-year-old nowhere on their website. Did it say that they could not be there with children under 10 and then someone tells us that we can’t be there with children under 10 completely upset two little girls who just wanted to play with dogs and my dogs. I just wanted to have a fun time but instead we’re disrespectful and rude to my children if I could give them a zero star I would but you know they don’t have that rating. No wonder they have a 3.1 rating. And honestly, there wasn’t even that many dogs out there. Do you wanna go to a good dog park? Go to Etown.

Seemingly nice park that appears to get very little use to overbearing access system. Completely empty on a sunny day and why?

Requires medical records to gain membership and a key fob to access, supposedly day passes can be bought off site at a business. Passing through the area on a road trip and was hoping to let my dogs get some exercise but not here.

One of the worst thought out parks I’ve seen crossing the United States. Congratulations on HOA-ifying dog parks Bardstown.

Absurd. Would’ve happily paid the 5$ to take my dogs to get a little energy out. But so many forms to fill out, and the app barely even works. Takes 5x more effort to purchase that stupid day pass than to book a flight, hotel, and rental car. Seriously, update your system, this is 2024. The site will tell you you can go to the campground to purchase a day pass, went and apparently they are told they can’t take payment but if I can fill out the online thing they can give me a key. Never in my life seen more hoops to jump through to take my dog to a dog park. This was all just one big tease for them! Thanks for nothing.

Pretty neat dog park. Does require paying for a day, week or membership pass at the Sav a Lot nearby.

At the time I went, it was like $5 for the day. Totally worth it to know your dog is around vaccinated dogs. Also, less responsible owners are less likely to pay for access. So your dog is safe in that aspect too. If you get the day pass, there is a drop box to leave the fob.

Small dog area is pretty big. Big dog and obstacle areas available separately too. I’m told they also have a fun water day for the dogs in the summer.

Property looks nice. Very disappointed that it's not a public park. Some guy told us the yearly membership is $60 and you get a key fob to gain access to the gate. All this transaction takes place at Save-A-Lot. While the park is cool, I just don't think it's private membership cool. Also the man was telling me that there's a lot of "politics" (whatever that means) because it's maintained by a private group of individuals. He mentioned there's some members with fairly aggressive dogs. Obviously I don't know if that's true, but it isn't for us. Our dog is too big for the little dog area, so I don't want to risk any dog fights. A very weird experience for me. I've lived in other towns in years past where the dog parks are just as nice and maintained by local government, so it just seems like Bardstown or Nelson county could just get it together and build one for us taxpayers. I do like that they require vet records tho.

I travel a lot for work and was in the area with my pup. Beware you need a membership. Also, I would find another dog park if you're just visiting because it isn't worth the day / week pass!! What a bummer.

The park is awesome! I read you needed to get a key fob beforehand, which was super easy at the sav-a-lot. The park is big, clean, lots of water stations, trash cans, a wash area if they get dirty. So glad we paid the $5 for the day. Will definitely come again next time we’re in town.

I transport rescue dogs crosscounty and asked GoogleMaps to show me offleash dog parks. This one had the shortest detour from my route. Like an reviewers said, you need to be a county resident with your dogs licensed through the county and pay to get a fob for entrance. This is only one of only three dog parks in the U.S. that I have run across where it is set up like this. A member offered me entry, but I had already walked my dogs outside the park before her arrival, and I am uncomfortable with them bending the rules to allow me in illegally. It looks really nice inside. Too bad. I would suggest that you make larger signage about "MEMBERS ONLY." It should really posted near the gate and/or be at the top of the "Rules and Regulations" board, which I read in full, while it was all dawning on me that we were unwelcome to use the park while passing through your town.
