I enjoyed the venue except for the folding chairs. These chairs are a bit too small for a plus size adult. I had a metal pole of the chair back jabbing into my hip and buttock for 90 minutes while watching the performance. No bueno!
The Portland 5 staff and security were friendly and helpful.
Expect street parking to be challenging even on a slow day. Parking garages are nearby.

Wonderful little theater, that makes the best out of a small space and old equipment. The seats were no more uncomfortable then any theater i have been in the past and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. Beautiful staircase and lots of elevator access and bathrooms on each floor. Me and my wife had a wonderful time here.

We saw The Black Nativity. Written by Langston Hughes in 1977, this narrative adventure takes the audience through the Nativity story in an epic cultural setting. Dancing, singing, joyous celebration. If you haven’t experienced it, go!

The whole experience was amazing! From chatting with folks (volunteers? ) in the lobby to help getting our seats & the program. And the show was INCREDIBLE! It was a bday present for me and exceeded anything I could have imagined. I hope to go back!

It's a nice space, small enough to be intimate. But the chairs they set up are WAY TOO SMALL. I'm not skinny, but I'm not too fat. The chairs were uncomfortably narrow just to sit in, let alone squirm in. They're also *really* close to each other. I enjoyed the show despite the physical discomfort.

A classic venue for stage performances. I enjoyed the small size of the theater but the volume of the speaker system is a bit too loud for such a small space. It was a little over whelming at times. Beautiful building and a great space overall. Looking forward to going back someday.

This is not the best theater space. It doesn't really have great acoustics. The performances I've seen here we're pretty good. I've seen two shows put on by Stumptown stages. The last was Evita and really honestly they bit off a little more than they could chew. It's just too small of a space to do a really big musical like that. It only seats 145 people and the seats aren't built in. They're practically glorified folding chairs. But the actors make the best of it.
