Do yourself a favor, don't attempt to do much walking here during the rainy season. The only trail accessible was the blue trail and it was less than a mile out and back. None of the other trails are raised and were all under water. Lesson learned!

Large quiet area with some history. No restrooms. Partially shaded. Trails are marked and get sandy, so be prepared for a workout.

Very nice for playing ball. The reason I go is the dog park. They have two fenced in areas. One for the smaller dogs and the other of the larger one. You also can go on a nice nature walk as well. My dog loves it.

Very well marked trails with signs indicating not only where you are but how far from parking area. Lots of pines and cleared trails, some noise from overhead planes from the Fort Myers regional airport. Horses should have a good time on the trails so marked for horses.

Trail markers are confusingly set up among all the different routes. We only passed one map. There is not much in the way of shade and the terrain of the trails needs serious maintenance. Much of the Yellow trail is beach-like sand which can exhaust you quickly in the Florida sun. You can take a horse on the various trails but not all.
if you are only hiking then I cannot recommend taking the equestrian/hiking hybrid and to only stick to the hiking only trails, shade is plentiful and the ground is a easier to traverse. It's not the worst trail but personally I would feel better if I knew which section I was on with clearer directions. There is quite a bit more that they can do with this to make it a more enjoyable experience. I'll be happy to return if there are some improvements made

Nice and dry through most of the preserve when so many locations locally are very wet. Good trail riding location!
