El lugar esta bonito tiene 100 años de antiguedad, la Hamburguesa esta exquisite, el pesacado a la parrilla esta riquisimo, pero los frijoles con arroz y chorizo mas o menos.

Great food for my wife who had the blackened shrimp Po-boy. I was looking for a great vegan option and settled for a good house salad with the balsamic vinaigrette dressing. My wife also indicated that the sweet potato fries were also great. Service was good. Atmosphere was really great. Bathroom was functional except for the hand dryer. No paper towels as an option for drying (which is ok unless the dryer doesn’t work).

Nasty and burnt food & place reeks of smoke. Was okay back in the day but now it's not! Even my shrimp was soggy and breading was nasty and my hush puppies were burnt. Also couldn't even put a fork in them. Can't believe the waitress didn't even care that she brought that burnt
nasty food to our table!

Awesome place with some really delicious eats, and great service. Everything we ordered was amazing and we will definitely return. Captains platter and blackened shrimp platter and all drinks were fresh and flavorful. Best crawfish tails I've had yet, blackened shrimp was my favorite. And the side of loaded potato salad was surprisingly good. Keep up the great work!

We looked at the choices to stop for lunch in Defuniak Springs as we were passing through. This stood out on the list of choices and we took a chance. We parked right in front and walked through a portal into New Oleans! The decor was dark and romantic, but you can also sit in a bright sunny front room if you wish. The service was prompt, polite and perpetual. We had amazing iced tea, delicious entrees served quickly, and splurged on hot sugary decadent beignets for dessert. I enjoyed a crispy oyster salad, possibly one of the best salads I had ever eaten. The remoulade dressing was a fancy thousand island with the perfect amount of spice and was so good I could have licked the cups it came in. My husband enjoyed shrimp and grits. This version had a slightly spicy cheese sauce which made the whole entree pop with flavor and excitement! If you love New Orleans food this is a must stop for you. The space was so inviting and the large tables in the back room were begging for a party to be held there! Highly recommended.

I would say this is the best place east of New Orleans, but it’s even better than New Orleans. My three favorite cities in the southeast US are Charleston, Mobile, and New Orleans in that order. This is the first time I’ve ever felt that I am in all three simultaneously. Chef Ernie is amazing. I didn’t order food, he just knew what I wanted and brought it to me. Stephanie behind the bar is an alchemist in a bartenders clothing. This is the best kept secret in South Alabama and North Central Florida. It is conveniently located to a 10 and well worth a 2 Hour Dr.

Chef Ernie is truly amazing! We enjoyed every bite of our entire meal along with some great conversation from the chef himself. From the house made hot sauce to the to die for bread pudding it’s all incredible.
Make sure to plan a trip to Defuniak just to visit cafe NOLA!
