Had to call for help car backed into at Public library. Officers were from out of town and didn't know where the library was in Tahoe City. When they finally got there they awarded me disappointing news. The car that backed into me had a stolen license plate & had fled the scene.

This is the Truckee office for the California Highway Patrol. Google maps lists another place further up the street but this is the real one. They were very helpful in my accident report.

On November 19th 2021our Orange Range Rover broke down at about 8pm.
We were quickly assisted by your officer Pereira. He was a most kind, polite, calming presence in our distress. He assisted us in gaining lodging and waited until rescue arrived. My local Truckee DMV sent me to the Truckee CHP for a VIN check on a new vehicle I purchased out of state. The Truckee CHP said, 'we don't do VIN verifications without a "referral" from the DMV'. Unbelievable that they could not spend one minute to assist a local resident.

Trooper Heredia(sp) came to my assistance as I was repairing a flat tire. He did everything to ensure my safety and even put my flat tire in my trunk as I was putting the spare on.
