I attended camp Birchwood every summer for the 2 weeks my whole childhood. I will say that when the Bredemus owned the camp it was absolutely phenomenal. So many wonderful memories I will cherish forever. Thank you to Camp Birchwood for giving me the self confidence I have today. Ugh what it would be like to be 8 or 9 years old again running around camp…

Best place on earth. I spent 6 summers here learning incredible skills and forming lifelong friendships. I would especially recommend the teen leadership program, which as an adult, I now realize helped build my self confidence and gave me invaluable life experiences. Would highly recommend this camp for any young girl!

The adventure of Camp Birchwood goes beyond the fun of the activities. Camp Birchwood is something to be experienced. It is a feeling of all of the external chatter of the world being released, a feeling of being held, while also being given space to explore & discover, a feeling of comfort and ease. Camp Birchwood is a place where I feel celebrated, acknowledged & safe to be ME. Each of these are true no matter the age I am when return.
It was magical to reopen with my own daughters. I was able to witness this within them when I took them to Birchwood for Family Camp. They would LIGHT up with greater confidence after conquering a fear or challenge (on water skis, riding horses, on the rock wall, at rifelry or archery etc). They would EXUDE excitement at their newfound favorite activities. As each staff person comfortably modeled being themselves, I saw my own daughters with a renewed sense of self. All of THAT combined is priceless.

This is a wonderful camp for girls. My daughter went last summer as a 12 year old and she did not go with friends. What a great experience for her- she made new friends, got out of her comfort zone, and made some amazing memories. This year my other daughter will go to Birchwood and I can’t wait for her to experience life at camp. The camp owners are so easy to work with and focused on what’s best for the girls.

My 12yr old just finished her second summer, 4 week session, and it was my 8yr old's 1st summer, 2 week session. Both girls plan to return next year, the older is asking to go for 6weeks. I've been very impressed with Camp Birchwood and appreciate the balance between fun activities, autonomy and challenging experiences in which they can practice becoming resilient adults.

I wish I could write a longer review about my first hand experience but I can only write so much. Last year Samuel and Georgia gained full control over the camp and that’s when it went down hill, I suffered so much emotional abuse from the both of them to the point where they made me choose between calling my mom and going home. They claimed I was mentally insane and that everyone at the camp didn’t like me, which is so funny because I’ve made great friends over the few years I was there who I constantly talk too. When they made these allegations against me I asked to call my mom because I wasn’t doing the best, Samuel said I can call my mom but then he’d have to send me home. I asked where I signed and where my parents signed that I couldn’t call them, and that was ignored. I spent a whole day locked up in an office until my flight home. I later found out that the both of them worked at a trouble teens camp prior to Camp Birchwood, I see where the abuse comes from. So much more happened but I unfortunately have a word limit.

Lots has changed over the year and it’s sad to see the Birchwood spirit is all gone.

Camp Birchwood is an incredible spot for girls of all ages to learn friendship, responsibility, creativity, teamwork, individuality and personal growth in a fantastic setting. My wife has worked year round for the Camp for nearly a decade. I have seen first-hand the positive environment that Camp Birchwood fosters for its campers and staff. Furthermore, our daughter has been to camp every summer with my wife and truly loves the time she gets to spend making friendships, learning new skills and having a great summer experience (lucky kid--I never got to go to summer camp!). Overall, I have nothing but positive things to say about Birchwood as it repeatedly impacts my wife and daughter for the best each summer they have been involved with Birchwood.

Camp Birchwood for girls is an amazing place. This is a place where girls can be girls and learn amazing leadership skills. It is a magical place! I cannot say enough good things. The counselors are so great. My daughter has attended the last two summers. She is looking forward to going again for four weeks this summer.
