I had an incredible experience at the Ale House in Cascade Locks, Oregon! From the moment I walked in, the bartender Sally made me feel like I was a local, even though I was just visiting from out of town. She took my order immediately and treated me like I was the most important customer to ever set foot in the bar. Her warm and friendly attitude truly made my visit special.

Sally even shared some fascinating local history, which added a unique touch to my experience. The foood was excellent, I ordered the Philly cheesesteak sandwich, and it hit the spot. I ate every last bite, and it was perfect!

I also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Shelly, who is just as wonderful as Sally. Shelly has created a welcoming, friendly atmosphere with great food and fantastic service. She made me feel like I was her number one customer, and her positivity is contagious.

If you’re in Cascade Locks, do yourself a favor and stop by the Ale House. Great food, great people, and an experience you won’t forget. Five stars, hands down.

Having personal experience as a restaurant and bar owner, I'm aware of the difficulties associated with reviews. The food industry is undoubtedly demanding. Nevertheless, upon meeting the owner, who successfully fulfills multiple roles, it's evident she deserves a good review!
Our meal was prepared efficiently, and the presentation was excellent. So the back of house gets 5 gold stars!🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
We enjoyed our conversations with the owner and felt welcomed as if we were lifelong residents of the town. The local diner's ambiance is unmistakable, with the regulars clearing their own tables and saying “see you tomorrow”. I love that!
We extend our best wishes to the owner for future success and hope she accomplishes her goal of traveling to Texas with her grandmother. CHEERS!🍻😉

If I could rate this place a zero I would!! I go to cascade locks every few months and I’ve only been to this restaurant twice. Both times they were rude and racist to anybody who wasn’t a regular. Food is too overpriced and service is beyond unprofessional and horrible. As someone who regularly visits the town I recommend never going there if you want to eat in for the day and enjoy your life. They discourage anybody who looks different from eating in their establishment. If you’re miserable with your life and enjoy ruining others day then I recommend this place! Good luck running a successful business <3

Great food! If you are a PCT hiker, ask for the hiker trash burger. Huge burger where they use personal pepperoni pizzas as the bun. They generally make these when they are busy, but feel free to ask, it is amazing!!

They have indoor and outdoor seating and friendly service with good beer.

The food was outstanding and reasonably priced.
My husband had a French Dip, every ingredient was absolutely fresh and housemade. Best one he ever had.
My salad was super fresh and flavorful.
We will definitely come back next time we'll come through Cascade Locks.

Our server Haley was personable, friendly and attentive.

I had the salmon chowder at the insistence of my friend and I was not disappointed at all. It was very thick and creamy. I felt like I was eating the chowder from a high end restaurant. Perfect place to stop after a day in the Columbia River Gorge.
