Recently at this center from out-of-state for a wedding reception. We have a daughter with an illness which requires her to carry water with her at all times, per her doctor's orders. She carried her clear water bottles into the center and left them in plain sight on the table for over 30 minutes while we waited to go through the buffet line. As soon as we left the table, we saw an employee quickly grab the water bottles and walk away. I went after her and asked her to return my daughter's water bottles, explaining it was medically necessary for her to have water with her at all times. I also explained that we had just driven over 6 hours and that our daughter had a fainting/seizure episode earlier in the day and needed to continually drink water. She defensively said "we have water here." I explained that we didn't know that when we arrived and she always carries water with her. Then this woman snipped "you can pick them up after the event." I became upset and demanded she return the water bottles and attempted to grab them, to which she held tighter and tried to turn away. Eventually she did release them with a snide comment, "I'd better not see you put anything in them." First of all, it was a clear bottle. Second of all, I understand your policy, but maybe approaching the person first and explaining your policy and asking for our help would have been appreciated instead of hijacking $25 water bottles! I mean how childish. Also, I believe it may be an infringement of rights to take away something medically necessary for a person with a disability. I am not an unreasonable person, but this woman was very rude and disrespectful. I'm glad I don't live in Atlantic, Iowa. On the other hand, the catering personnel were extremely pleasant, helpful and nice.

Beautiful facility, well planned, with native plants in landscape for beauty with low maintenance. Worked well as a concert venue. Friendly people everywhere. Looks ADA compliant, from parking to restrooms & throughout.
