Me encantó, aunque debo de confesar que al principio tuve un poco de miedo, dado que las habitaciones no son modernas, pero hermosas, acogedoras. En definitiva fue una gran experiencia y muy recomendable de mi parte.

On our last visit there over 10 years ago, we ended up staying at the Chateau. I got a kick out of our son asking why there was no tv in the room. Dinner was great, I chose the Buffalo, and my wife went with the salmon. Both were good, and while there really isn't any other hotel, motel, or restaurant anywhere close by, we were on vacation and splurged.
On our Cave Tour the next day, because one of the guides made a joke regarding our vehicle (Search & Rescue all over it). They took my wife and son up front and asked me to take the rear to make sure nobody got lost. This was just perfect for me, as I video taped and took pictures without anyone bothering me.
The guides were absolutely great fun, and everyone at the Chateau treated us to a good time while we were there. I really like the remote area and the story of President Theodore Roosevelt establishing the Oregon Caves National Monument in 1909 to protect the caves from vandalism.
After living in many different States and lots of time passed, we find it comforting the we ended up living within driving range of the Caves now. We will treasure our visit and upcoming visits, as there are many hiking trails around the mountain too.

This ole lodge has that rustic charm. Our biggest issue was with upstairs rooms and no AC with days pushing upper 90’s in Cave Junction it just wasn’t very comfortable. The beds are pretty old. They were nice enough to put a couple of fans in our room but hate to say it. The fans were nasty and hadn’t been cleaned for years. The beds were not very cozy either. When you pay over $230 a night I do expect to be relatively comfortable. The staff were nice and accommodating. It certainly was worth checking out before remodel and I sure hope the beds and AC are on the list for updates. The fine dining is expensive and the only show in town for many miles. More upscale casual than fine dining. We enjoyed the old school cafe than anything else.

I just spend 2 nights at the historic hotel (9/18) right before it closed for the season and 2 years for renovation. I loved the uniqueness of the hotel and the quiet with no phones, no TV, no Internet. Some people might not appreciate this luxury, but I was delighted. The food in the cafe was good and in the dining room was ok, with the exception of the marionberry cobbler, which was outstanding. ||||Having local people as staff added a lot of knowledge about the area and alternative activities. The hiking trails were nice, not too challenging, but well maintained abd beautiful in the fall.

This place is closing at the end of Sept for a major upgrade for 1-2 years. If you can, visit before. We had room 101. We could hear the little waterfall right outside the window. We did not have cell service nor wifi. It was awesome! I had my son's fill attention the whole time. The hotel has a large game room with a lot of games. We took a game (Battleship) out to the lobby. Make sure to book a table for dinner, this is the only place to eat up there . At night there was someone playing the piano. You can book a cave tour before you go too. I highly recommend the regular tour and the candlelight tour. Do both, completely different experiences.

The Chateau is such an amazing place. The room we stayed in was like something out of a fairy tale. The high peak in the middle with the beds nestled in, added to it's charm. The view was wonderful, as was falling asleep to the sound of the falls. The room was clean and the beds comfortable. The staff couldn't have been more wonderful or kind. Everyone we met went out of their way to make our experience the best and we couldn't be more grateful. The food in the restaurant was fantastic, the milkshake in the cafe was equally as good. I highly recommend the Marion berry shake. I also highly recommend the Chateau, Words don't do it justice, it's something that needs to be experienced.

We heard a rumor that the Chateau would be shutting down for a couple of years for needed renovations and decided to visit before it closed. We booked with other friends and made reservations for dinner. What a pleasant evening. The service was over the top. Even made a fire in the fireplace for us. We entertained ourselves (and probably everyone else in the lobby) playing Pictionary. It was great to be unchained from technology for the weekend. I was told the current leaseholder for the Chateau will not run the hotel when it reopens in two years, it will be taken over by a corporation. I hope the new company will keep up the exemplary customer service. On a slightly negative note...the mattresses were horrible, and the couple in the room next door never turned their light out, so light leaked out into our room. My husband and I kept falling into the center of the mattress. The room was very cold and under the blankets I was very warm. I could not get the temperature just right. Slept horrible, but the whole experience was amazing.

We drove from the California side taking the old highway route from Crescent City and the highway has been widened and paved, (my old map showed it as a one lane gravel road). We surprisingly drove through a tunnel on this route, before reaching the Oregon border. A sign clearly pointed us in the direction of Cave Junction, (not realizing the road ends there) or we would have easily drove to Ashland. We had no idea a hotel was located on-site, but not wanting to rush our family adventure driving so far out of the way, we checked into the historic 1800's hotel. We opted to take the Cave tour the next day, in order to rest, relax, shower and check out the surrounding hotel grounds and quiet areas. I do not remember an elevator to get up to our third floor room, but this was an adventure and stairs were part of it. I laughed when my son asked where the television was, as there is none. While showering I noticed people going up to the Cave Entrance on a nice mountain trail. We explored the old hotel that even a famous U.S. President stayed at after it first opened and discovered the hotel has a restaurant. That evening I tried the Buffalo that was on the menu, it was very delicious with mash potatoes and wild Brown gravy. The Cave tour was the highlight of this trip and we thoroughly enjoyed the well lit walk. I really recommend for and out of the way adventure with no electronic distractions!
