We visited Century Walnut Creek 14 and XD after driving down from Sonoma, and while the movie experience itself was enjoyable, the theater’s layout and organization left much to be desired.

Parking and Entryway:
Navigating the parking lot was confusing, and figuring out how to walk to the theater was even more challenging. The entryway wasn’t clearly visible, and we ended up going around the block before finding it.

Check-In and Concessions:
Check-in was fine—staff were friendly enough—but the process is split between outside and inside, which seemed a bit disjointed. Once inside, the layout was odd, with a Starbucks prominently located but the concession stand hidden away. It was frustrating when the Coke machine upstairs wasn’t working, and staff had to request a replacement from downstairs.

Auditorium and Seating:
The auditorium was clean, which was nice, but the chairs showed noticeable wear and tear. The seat heaters were also underwhelming, which was disappointing given the cooler weather.

Restrooms:
The bathrooms were clean, which was a highlight and a much-appreciated touch during the visit.

Final Thoughts:
While the theater itself had some nice features, the confusing parking, layout, and minor inconveniences detracted from the overall experience. It’s worth visiting for the movie selection and clean facilities, but be prepared for a bit of hassle navigating the space.

So when was the last time you went to the movies? I used to go weekly when I was younger but now it seems more like yearly. The last time here was to see Ford v Ferrari and I’m glad I saw it on the big screen. So after being away for so long, we decided to come down to watch The Northman, which was a steaming pile of garbage. I was surprised to find assigned seating and reclining chairs which was amazing. The sound quality is also incredible and they substitute quality for volume and that makes the show much better. Of course, the screens are great but the popcorn was terrible this time. Or maybe I shouldn’t have eaten that huge burrito right before ordering a bucket of popcorn.
As soon as they quit making super hero movies or insanely stupid shows like The Northman, I’ll probably find myself coming here a bit more frequently. What’s your thoughts on this place?
