This is such a great event! You absolutely have to do this during the summer. Yes, it's in a graveyard, but it's so beautifully designed. You're surrounded by trees. There's fountains and pools, it's really beautiful. Blanket or get fancy and bring low chairs and a table and set up your cheese and charcuterie and champagne and enjoy a fabulous night out.

Overpriced!! Bought tickets AND $90 parking just to be piled on a lawn like sardines. There was actually no space at all on the grass to watch comfortably. My girlfriend and I had to set our stuff up on the pavement of the road with barely any view of the screen. People kept walking over us the entire movie.
We were also just wandering around beforehand trying to enjoy the scenic parts of the cemetery to get our monies worth at least but one of the staff started YELLING at us to get off the lawn even though it was more than an hour before the movie would start. So unprofessional to be yelling at people. I mean they had some good vendors, but it was insanely crowded with long lines. MAKE SURE TO BRING A LAWN CHAIR…. Very crucial detail if you want to experience this comfortably. They should really have tickets sold for the lawn only or something. It was such a bummer honestly.

Just a terrible experience. If you’re going to charge $30/ticket and oversell at least tell people they may not be part of the experience. Completely obstructed view, seated on gravel pavement. Either get there when doors open, or save your money and rent it from your living room.

The movies in the cemetery are a cool idea, but man was it way too crowded! Went to the Nightmare Before Christmas show. Gates opened at 6:45 for an 8pm start time. Parked at the Lemon Grove parking structure for $30 since it was the only parking area that wasn't sold out. Arrived at 7pm and got in line at the Van Ness fare by 7:15. Didn't get through the gate until just after 8. (If there was another way in, there was nothing telling us so.) By that time, there was NO seating left anywhere on the grass. Hundreds of people searching for just some place to sit. Ultimately found a place on one of the roads. Then, after the film actually started, a bunch of people were told they had to move after getting well-situated because they were in a fire lane. My wife and I had to squish into a tiny little space to accommodate.

Plenty of people were NOT following the chair height requirement, so it was not terribly easy to see the screen in some places. Food was ballpark prices. Best part to me was the bathrooms being decent. I just couldn't enjoy myself. Not worth the $90 we spent for just 2 people to park and get in to the venue.

A movie showing in a cemetery? Why not?!

This is so LA! Recommend getting here early because Melrose gets pretty packed as the show starts. You're able to bring a low chair and your own picnic to enjoy too. They also allow you to bring beer and wine as well! However, if you forget or don't feel like packing they also sell snacks and drinks there. Bring a blanket and a mat to rest on and enjoy the show!
