Avoid coming here at all costs! This city is run like the corrupt city of Dolton, Ohio but in Florida. As a native Floridian my entire life I’ve never seen such an obvious money racketeering scheme with the parking fines and the environment it creates to profit off of it. This city generates a lot of money off the backs of hard-working people and they have a garage full of toys to show for it with a Police Dept that only hires 1 dispatch person who handles everything (Chris) and who was reluctant to provide his name and would only give me a formal complaint form if the supervisor on-duty handed it to me. On top of that, Once I was in the police station lobby no one was at the desk so they didn't know I was there and I overheard Ofc. Desantis and others laughing and joking about my situation thinking I could not hear them all gossiping on the left side adjacent room when it was finally realized that I was present in the lobby Patrol Sgt. Tom Fraser opened the left side door of the room and provided me the complaint form when confronted on why they were joking and mocking my situation he attempted to brush it off and change the subject, These police officers can literally put predatory parking enforcement as their primary skill set and expertise because the officers can't even differentiate the difference between an ordinance and statutory law but I’m sure the powers that be enjoy that fact. Hopefully, an inevitable surprise audit will improve the reputation of this place with enough complaints to the attorney general or change of elected officials because if you're looking for a vacation you will not find it here so go elsewhere.

The City of Holmes beach has a very aggressive police department with a hefty fee schedule. This reflects poorly on elected government leaders who set policy. Maybe their reader boards on the highway should say "turn around and go home, we don't want you here."

Wish I could take stars away. If you love driving around for hours looking for a parking place only to finally find the one single place where there are no "Tow Away Zone" or "No Parking" signs and still have to pay a parking ticket, this is the place for you. You know it is a racket when they have a website specifically dedicated to you paying parking tickets.

Very unwelcoming city to guests. Spend your money elsewhere and avoid businesses in Holmes beach.
