I learned of them through their support and participation with my kid’s high school and the support and programs have been the absolute best in helping to allow the students to train and perform in the arts for a better foundation leading to college and beyond.

I am simply ECSTATIC to see the stellar credentials of the new CCCEPA Program Director!! What a breath of fresh air and quality update to the CCCEPA curriculum that will occur for the students.

It is too bad my daughter is graduating this year, 2021, from the CCCEPA program at Pebblebrook High School in Cobb County, GA, and now going in a different direction for college because the program has it is gave her ZERO opportunities to excel past others (who experienced more favorable treatment from the program's directors) in the Arts.

Her experience as a black young talented, yet impressionable female vocalist & theatre major would have been completely different. Maybe a different staff not just steeped in Anglo-Saxon perspectives would have led to a real career option for her. Mentorship from people that care about you and your culture MATTER!

Luckily, my daughter's talents extend far beyond singing and acting!! She is great at all of it, but it also doesn't hurt that she's an academic star as well. She will graduate ranked as a TOP TEN numbered student in the class of 2021 out of approx. 600 students and is a Georgia Merit Scholar, which puts her at the top 1% of students in the state.

The point is that she will land on her feet as a STEM college major at an Ivy League school, which she is now working toward and most likely and go on to Graduate or Professional school. My worry and grief is for others of her capability that will continue to also be marginalized daily and again, another one of us having to end up with a dream potentially having been "snatched" by Supremacy. All students deserve a fair chance to excel in their career of choice. ALL humans are of value and if we are ALL lead to succeed instead of fail, it would become a phenomenal world.

So, yes. The program as it is currently structured and run, with almost no cultural diversity or assistance rates an "F." Having a token or two doesn't count. Keep it real and KUDOS to bringing in a person that may prove to be transformative to CCCEPA.
