Food is great. Recently increased their prices but that is expected due to gentrification (houses selling for 900k) and rising costs of everything. Water has a very strong earthy and metallic taste. I am used to well water, this is distasteful. Charge high prices, expect more perfection, hence the four stars. Will continue to come but may bring my own water.

Hi, my husband and I usually go to Dawsons 1 or 2 per week but we noticed that the food isn’t consistent. I used to like your onion rings they were crunchy and flavorful. My son loved the chicken Ortega sandwich his favorite. Now gone from the menu and the onion rings are now greasy and made differently. I also ordered the Mac and cheese with chicken and it was served cold. My son and husbands waited 20 minutes before being served their food. We all ordered at the same time. I know your prices went up as well and our food portion was smaller but Please talk to your cooks you’re the only restaurant we like in Dixon food wise. We would hate to stop dining at your location. I’m all about supporting family owned businesses.

Went here for family Sunday breakfast. First time in the restaurant and Dixon. Was pleased with the overall quality of the dining room, bar, menu and the selected dishes. Kids chose from the kids menu- usual selection of kids meals. I enjoyed my omelette. The coffee was good too. If I find myself in Dixon in the future I'll make a point of stopping in.

Very loud and VERY cold. Two of us in our party were shivering.

The steak bites were full of gristle and not tasty because of that. Either get better quality meat, or don't serve this option.

The fried pickles and our service were both very good.

I asked a friend where to eat breakfast Dixon, she said Dawson's or Buds. I flipped a coin and boy was this a winner! I had Huevos Rancheros, a waffle my wife had the California Omelet. Her omelet was fantastic she said EXCEPT that it wasn't as hot as she would have preferred. Almost like they cooked hers first and then made my meal. For me, even though the carnitas in my Rancheros was super moisture and had perfect crisp and my eggs over medium burst with flavor from the dish....the waffle was by far the capstone. I ordered with fruit, but I normally am not interested, and I ordered no whip cream. So, I guess I am highlighting a second blunder when I say, they put whip cream on it. It was early Saturday, they just opened, we were the first and only being served blah blah....but you also only had 1 job ? In any case, that whip cream I expected to be fake and wimpy, came out looking thick like idk ice cream or something. It also happened to be the best mistake of my life! I totally wanted to just buy a tub of that stuff it was epic. The server said it was homemade, of course it was! I should mention she offered to replace the waffle, but when I saw the texture I declined as I was cautiously optimistic. Coffee btw was nothing restaurant gross about it. Very robust and great flavor. Came in charming mugs and they had no shortage of cream when we asked for them. The interaction was super friendly and endearing. Honestly I can see the warm Omelet and lack of whip cream omissions to earn 4 Sars not 5, but my opinion is to say otherwise as we truly enjoyed our food and experience. Rest assured, I will announce they need to work on food temp next time we go, and we definitely will be going again!

Came here by accident as place we were looking for was full. Was looking for breakfast (not bar food) so initially was worried. Sat at the bar and greeted by friendly staff. Ordered drinks which we got promptly. Saw the food coming out for people and we got really excited. Everything looked delicious! We ordered Short rib hash, pancakes and fruit to share. Food came out fairly fast. The hash was delicious and everything was cooked and presented well. We enjoyed the experience and would definitely come back.

First time we didn't know what to expect.. not alot of room for a sit down dinner... but after waiting at the bar for an open table and settling in it was great!! The Tuscan Chicken was amazing.. the pizza was delish and the mezcal Old Fashioned was Perfect!! Would definitely recommened.. but atmosphere is as it's named.. bar and grill!! ✌️
