Always a good production, but the dance was a little weak. But ?
It was laugh out loud funny in some acts. I wish I could give it a 5 star review, but I'm reserved for that and the dance didn't meet up to it compared to other productions I have seen at DHT.

Great new theater with comfortable seating close to Waikiki. Diamond Head Theater puts on great productions and has programs for community members interested in theater. I'd recommend you check out a show here. There is ample free parking in their lot and street parking is also available.

@Phil Ventura ignoring the fact it is now closed, you called Town a world class dining option here, but you gave Town itself only 3 stars…that’s some serious cognitive dissonance. I’d recommend getting a neurological work up.

Awesome theater as we fly from Maui to enjoy this theater. Great plays and outstanding cast.
Never saw a bad play. Keep up the great work as it is Broadway of the Pacific.

Wonderful venue to see great local talent performing live at very reasonable prices. Casual dress especially for the matinee performances.

Tickets sell out fast as the theater is small, so buy your tickets early. Season tickets (6 performances over a year) also available at discounted prices. Call the theater for details or check their website.

Ample free parking behind the theater or across the street at Kapiolani Community College. For the past year or so, a security guard was available before and after performances to help people cross the street.

Went to watch Murder on the Orient Express. My favourite theatre in Honolulu. Had seats at the back but it is small enough that I could enjoy the performance perfectly. There is headphones for the difficult of hearing.
The performance was excellent. Very well done and the stage props were very creative and really made it feel like I was there. Highly impressive for a small theatre.
Only negative is not a huge selection of snacks but there are some drinks. I don't think anyone goes to the theatre for the snacks though.
Will be going again soon!

Beehive - Diamond Head Theatre

Wow!!! I have to bring my mother to watch this show. I can guarantee that you will know 95% of the songs in this feature. All classic 1960s music with a very well done narrative of the life of Women in the 60s... through music.

The start of the show felt a bit slow. Ok, I was at the preview, but i think it felt a little rough because the audience didn’t know how to respond. “Pulling Teeth” is how could better describe it but Artistic Director John Rampage did tell the audience that the performers were ready for the audience to play along.

As the songs started, I was bobbing my head, tapping my feet, and clapping my hands. My first cheer came when “You Can’t Hurry Love” came on... still one of my favorite songs ever. My first tear (yes, I will admit that I cry during awesome moments) came on “Will You Still Love Me” as they did it with so much affection. My heart jumped on “Where The Boys Are” because I know Connie Francis is one of my mother’s favorite artists.

My “A-Ha” moment came when “Abraham, Martin, & John.” The whole company on stage with beautiful harmony touching on some of the most significant events in the 60s and the whole history of the U.S.A. At this point I was sold.

Make time the time to get to Diamond Head Theater and watch Beehive. If you do, the final act about Woodstock, which I purposely left out, will let you know that this show is worth the price of the ticket!
