I had such a wonderful time at the chamber music concert in the Upstairs Theatre, part of the historic building that is home to the Downriver Council for the Arts! The venue is absolutely beautiful, with its timeless architecture adding a perfect touch of elegance to the amazing performances of flute and harp. The musicians were incredible, weaving intricate melodies that filled the cozy space with serene beauty. The acoustics were spot on, capturing every little detail of the music and creating a truly magical experience. It was an unforgettable afternoon filled with exceptional music, all set in a stunning location. I loved being able to enjoy such a lovely event right in my own neighborhood!

Be aware before booking a party or event here. They took my deposit and then i found out that the elevators would not be working in time for my daughters 1st birthday party on the 3rd floor and there is a hole in the ceiling of the 3rd floor found out from a previous review & obviously did not feel comfortable hosting my daughters party here and the owner was rude and basically told us it wasn’t a hole it was a “rain leak” which in fact is a hole she denied our deposit back and I had to find a different venue, hopefully the $100 goes towards fixing the hole in the ceiling. I will be contacting the city to see if this place is even up to code to be renting out in the first place. Just wanted to warn others though 🙂

** Update to the non professional response back, I called July 20th over a MONTH before MY August 24th event. I will share that screenshot, as I have no reason to lie. I asked if the elevators would be working by then and you said someone would have to be in the basement to bring it up each time someone needed it & when I brought up the hole in the ceiling and asked for the main floor OR our deposit to be refunded and you rudely denied both, again I will be following up with the city, sad excuse for a “non profit” organization.

Beautiful building with so much to offer! So many different classes being offered to young children and adults. I love stopping in and looking at all the different type of art that the little gift shop has too…but my favorite part of the whole building is the beautiful theater. It truly is a piece of art itself. It’s a great place to host bridal showers and parties for bigger groups as well as the gallery if a smaller space is needed. Overall, the space is beautiful and brings so much to downriver and surrounding cities. Definitely worth a drop in!

This is a beautiful building whose history shows in its architecture! The owner is very nice and accommodating too. I had my bridal shower there recently, and everyone commented on how immaculate the building was! Plenty of parking across the street.

I found out they have gallery shows, concerts, and art classes too. This really is a diamond in the rough!

Love this building! We performed Macbeth her in high school. I just finished a Zumba class with Kelly Nagy and I love taking classes with her! She's an amazing instructor. I loved having the class in such a beautiful, historic building.
