Just had a call from the “business manager” who refused to let my daughter participate because of her dislike for how I have advocating for my daughter last year.

Last year info:
Last year, they attempted to take away my daughters solo because she missed some sessions ( I have 4 surgeries and couldn’t drive her to and from late night practice). Despite them knowing the circumstances, they still attempted to punish her for this circumstance my daughter could not control. It’s with noting that my daughter’s ability to perform wasn’t compromised by the absences. She knew all the words and has perfect pitch from private vocal lessons and active participation in theater since age 5, now age 13.

Outraged by them threatening to remove her solo, I advocated for my daughter ( and eventually they relented). I asked in our community FB group if anyone knew a leader at ECC to help (keeping all details about the incident private and professional on FB) and I was connected to more professional people on the board. Her solo wasn’t removed and we finished our season at ECC.

This year/season:
This year, I went to enroll her and this woman in the phone refused because of my interaction with the leadership last year. It’s worth noting that they are again preventing this child access to the community “non profit” service, punishing the child, for the parents relationship. I offered to funnel communications through my husband and ensure drop off/picks up via him as well - to no avail.

The woman on the phone was so personally offended by my pointing out yet again that ECC practice is punishing children, that she was screaming into the receiver. I communicated my boundary clearly and calmly, and eventually had to hang up on her when she failed to respect me.

Nothing has changed at ECC. They’re still undeveloped people who punish children for uncontrollable circumstances and unable to compartmentalize the relationship with parents from the children. Furthermore this new business manager is so emotionally immature she is incapable of discussing compartmentalizing the relationships and how the decisions continue to harm children over promote community connection.

Do not believe their PR move to try and blame the child’s behavior. They’re categorically false and easily disproved. Happy to share the voice recordings and emails with anyone who needs them.

Do not go here - go to Venue or literally anywhere else.
