If I could leave zero stars, I would.

I attended a motocross competition at the Deschutes County Fairgrounds on February 8th, and the indoor event space had little to no ventilation. The only opening was a garage door where competitors entered and exited, everything else was shut, all of the other garage doors, and all of the entrances, everything was closed. Looking around the venue, it seemed like they have a fan or ventilation system of some type. However, it didn't seem to be in operation. The exhaust fumes were overwhelming; you could taste them in the air, and you could see the smog gathering in the air. Later that night, I developed a severe headache and nausea, and after speaking with others who attended, many experienced similar or worse symptoms. One person even lost their voice for about a week. It is extremely dangerous to hold these types of events without proper airflow. Someone needs to address this before it causes serious harm to someone.

Well equipped medium size room with stadium seating, small floor space on the ground level, and wrap around mezzanine with some food service spaces. Restrooms on ground level. Ramps for accessibility.

This is the premier indoor arena, sports center, stadium, and event center in Central Oregon. Staff have maintained this building well over the years keeping it clean and in good repair. This is a fun location to attend a rodeo or a concert. The mid level walk around allows you to move from one side of the location to the other. Seats are comfortable and each allows for a full view into the lower level arena.
