VERNONIA PARKS!
Update: It’s not quiet on the weekends! It was full of big people and little people soaking up the sun and splashing in the Dewey Pool and adjacent natural waters.

The Chill Zone (delicious shaved ice) was on site serving refreshing treats this weekend. Be sure to check them out in the Vernonia parks!

There were a few local first responders on site watching over the water scene with all sorts of people splashing in and lounging around.

🚩Note: * the Dewey Pool area is not pet friendly (posted). That’s fine because there are lots of kids running around having fun. Leave your pups at home in the AC or near a fan so they don’t get left behind in a hot car. OR go to the other end of the natural water area with your pets. It’s important to be respectful of rules that are meant to benefit the general public.

It was a good place to take a paddle board for a little while. Easy water access.

Very limited parking. Don’t forget to pay the $5 parking fee.

For a quieter experience, go during the week.
Quiet little Vernonia park with picnic tables. We enjoyed walking around and looking at the gorgeous trees.

Went here with some friends and had an absolute blast! Will certainly be making this a spot to revisit whenever I need a nature get-away from the city hustle and bustle!

There were places to sit and eat, and a fun river to swim in!
Didn't get pictures because I was in the moment, but got to try a paddle board for the first time!

One of the most popular parks in town. A historic swimming pool is built into the bank of the river and the longest running logging show in the PNW is held here every August.

Visiting from out of state. Amazing park in the middle of town. Swimming hole for everyone, "beach" for lounging, playground for the kids....great place!
