My son absolutely loves everything improv playhouse has to offer. He has been taking classes and camps for years now and has been an excellent experience. Highly recommend the youth programs!

Love this place. Talented and spirited performers on tiny dark stage that makes everything feel so avant garde. They also have the robust program for youth. Another one of phenomenal Libertyville Treasures.

Improv Playhouse has so much going for it and is a bedrock for the arts in the northern Chicago suburbs. Our daughter especially enjoyed her time participating in the youth theater programs over the past 3 years. The instructors are seasoned professionals who care very much about the development of the kids. The growth and confidence our daughter has gained over that time is incredible. We’ll never forget the loving family environment IP provided.

They have three different levels of youth theater classes covering grade school, middle school and high school. In addition to the theater programs, there are opportunities for the kids to take part in a Traveling Troupe that performs for the Libertyville community and surrounding areas to highlight the skills they have learned as well as the annual parade at Libertyville days.

The improv and holiday shows are fantastic as well. Highly recommend checking out all of their diverse offerings!

The programs are great. My daughter went here several times for the summer camps and she liked it. But it was our younger teenage son who loved the improv programs. He has been coming here for a couple of years now and he really likes the place. The one who leads that program he goes to is really good. The place in general is great. The staff is nice and I have also seen shows outside of my kids’ shows and they are good as well too. It is great to have a local improv place to visit when one feels like it.

It was very entertaining how they could take a few words and on the spot create a story as quickly as they did. If you can go see it, I am sure you would enjoy it and it is close to home. It is in Libertyville right on IL 21.
