The only reason I’m leaving a 1-star is to write this review. My teenage daughter was sent here to lab work and an ultrasound and on her ovaries. We do not have insurance and when we arrived we were told we would have to pay up front. Never heard of that before, but I asked how much it was. The ultrasound was $350, and the lab work would be $300, for a total of $650. I didn’t have that much so I asked to reschedule for 2 weeks so I could come up with the money. Today we get there and pay for the ultrasound, $350, they take her back and get it done. Then they want us to pay again, $489 for the lab work. When I question why it has increased $189 from what I was told 2 weeks ago, I was told they aren’t the billing department and whatever I was told was just an estimate. When I asked how was she able to tell me exactly how much it is today, but she couldn’t 2 weeks ago, again I was told she isn’t the billing department. The entire time we were there all of the women in the administration area were too busy gossiping about their weekend activities to be bothered with doing their jobs, and actually act annoyed whenever you need help. Their motto, “our family taking care of yours” must be a joke. Irwin County Hospital needs to hire higher quality admin people!

Very rude. Did not want to help us. Had no intentions of helping us. When we were “getting helped” we were shoved a clipboard. Comments between the two receptionists were very rude towards us. If you did not want to help us why are you working there? Don’t act like your busy when your sitting on your phone.

As soon as I walked in the waiting room, smell like poop. The receptionist at the front didn’t even turn her head to see what was going on. I got into a room after about 30 minutes and the nurse to help me out who’s very nice and friendly, she asked me for a urine sample and also asked me if I wanted a blanket because it was cold and I said yes but she never came back with a blanket. I spent the next two hours just waiting and when I click the button a nurse came in and said that the other nurse would be in with my discharge papers. Which was the same nurse from before she told me that I would have to follow up with my OB/GYN and didn’t tell me anything after that so I don’t know what my real issue was. I don’t know why they took my urine sample. They must’ve been thirsty the whole time you could hear all of the nurses lagging around and chopping it up. Would not recommend.

I had a full hysterectomy a
"A few years." But he found out that my tubes were not the best. Possibly an overyin cancer in my immediate future, and I was 40 or 41 when I spent a couple of days in Irwin Co. Hospital and haven't been diagnosed.
Fortunately, with any problems because of circumstances, I was positive for uterine cancer. It removed surgery 4 times to get a neg. progress for 5 years. I liked the small hospital, and the doctor had good bedside manners. I'dd rather go there than the closest" satilla.
I had everything removed. And I soon regretted it. Keep them ovaries if you can !!! But he saved my life, and it's been 17 years.
You'll still have an interest, lol... knowing all that, do your research.

I had COVID 19 and came to ER. This hospital does have limitations but i knew i felt being smaller i would get better care and I was correct. The hospital is very clean and not dated. A lot of nurses and respiratory therapist went above and beyond. One brought me a Reece Cup from store since i couldn't leave and one picked up subway across street making sure i was well cared for. They gave proper time to heal and not discharge me too quickly and that i was prepared to return home safely. Tammy, Jennifer, Angela, Ann, Janet, and the many others thanks for caring about your patience!

My only dislike here is the meals. Breakfast is same exact meal of grits eggs biscuit with sausage patties or links 7 of 8 days i was here and one day waffles.. Meals come 730 1130-12 and 5pm which is back to back causing dinner to breakfast seeming like foreher The meals are inconsistent in portions and selection. Lunches often are more like dinner with heartier food and dinner was more lunch like with burgers etc. but often it feels like pantry cleaning vs planned menus. Several days included cake slices at begging then became lots of jello, fruit or no desserts. But it tasted good and was always prompt and warm just a little unpredictable

The receptionist in the E.R are very rude and obnoxious! I was freaking out about something and both the receptionist and the lady behind her started laughing at me! Then when I asked for the charge nurse they gave me a hard time to talk to her, the black lady Kierra told us that it isn’t that deep and we didn’t need to know there names when we were asking for information to report them! Then when I was talking to the charge nurse the receptionist started to try and argue with us! The charge nurse was wonderful and so was the nurse that came and seen me and eased my mind ! But these women that work in the e.r sign in part lack customer service skills, bedside manners, and just empathy period ! You do not laugh at anyones pain no matter if it’s small to you! Specifically working in the hospital setting. Very unprofessional and I would never return or any of my family after this !

This hospital is awesome!!!! Small but very accommodating to a persons medical needs. Came into emergency room and was treated right away by truly nice professional care givers. There are closer hospitals to me but I will always come here when I need medical help. I highly recommend this hospital to anyone needed immediate care or normal care. I am always treated so well here and love this hospital and feel so blessed to have an opportunity to come here when necessary. Thank you to this wonderful hospital!!

One horrible nurse which has a smart mouth always making smart comments for no reason. Plus he has a bad attitude and is not a people person, he also has no communication skills with people. All the other nurses are great.
