Asked Jessamine county animal shelter for help to secure this dog for its safety and others, the dog has been outside for hours and we called and asked for help and where the dog is located on the front porch on its property, they told us they can’t go and grab the dog but the dog runs up and down the street and in the road all day and I’m just concerned about the dog being in the road and getting hit by a vehicle, when on the phone they were very rude. Very disappointed.

Volunteers were extremely pleasant and knowledgeable about the Pets they had on hand. We will be picking up Rock Saturday afternoon. I was very surprised at how easy the pet adoption process was.

I am very upset about what happened this morning. I am a dog trainer and have a service dog. We also live out in the county so dogs are allowed to run without being on leash or in a fence. We have a long drive way and animal control was parked at the end of the drive way and was getting back in the truck because he was chasing my service dog to the point where he was shaking. My dog is a poodle and is a sweet heart but doesn’t like being chased. Do better because now I have to go back from the beginning with training around men

I have had the worst experience with the people that work here. First off, incredibly rude and off putting on the phone-they act as if you’re an inconvenience when you call in. I have tried to volunteer through calling and filling out a form online, and nothing back. Not an email, call, nothing. They also seem to not care at all about animals in the community that are being mistreated. It is handled as an “it is what it is” type of situation, which is incredibly sad for these animals. I don’t see all of the “hype” with this place and agree with older reviews saying they are a subpar animal control team.

What a beautiful, clean, serene place. It absolutely thrills me that my county has such an amazing dog-park. There are two fenced-in areas: one smaller area, one much larger. The grounds are clean, and it is backed up to the Animal Shelter. I enjoy bringing my puppy here & visiting the dogs of the shelter through the fence at the same time. Bags are provided to pick up your pet's waste, but bring your own water/food! Dogs must be vaccinated & cannot have a sharp/mental collar on. Such a beautiful place to let my baby burn some energy!

Love this place! The staff are super friendly. I got my kitten here and named her Eboni she is such a sweetheart. Anyway the cages are always clean and the animals are well taken care of.
