I’ve been riding with Natalie for 5 years. In this time she’s watched and helped me grow up, and her decades of experience have allowed me to accomplish dreams I never thought possible. She teaches not only correct equitation principles that have led her riders to national success, but instills true horsemanship in all students. She is the rare trainer where the horse absolutely always comes first. She passes this forward to her kids, who are both great riders and horsemen.
One of Natalie’s most remarkable qualities is the time she spends with her students outside of the saddle. She treats them like family and can often be found chatting with kids in the barn, instilling the knowledge of horse care and passion for riding. It’s for this reason that all of her riders know not only how to ride, but how to tack up, bathe, and care for their horses. She cares for her lesson horses better than almost anyone else, and they reciprocate the love to their kids.

She’s very accessible and her riders quickly become family. It’s easy to fall in love with the sport, but it’s the countless hours I’ve spent with Natalie outside of the saddle that have made me truly fall in love with the animal. This love is essential to anyone who wishes to have a lasting and successful career riding. We have a great group of girls of all ages, and the 4H and IEA club allow this individual sport to become a team one.

Natalie’s so adapting to every type of rider and student, and individualizes her instruction to best fit the clients’ needs. When I’m not able to make it to the barn, I miss my ponies, but never for one second doubt that they are in anything but the upmost care. It’s truly such a blessing to never worry about it. If I’m having a rough week, Natalie will often text me a cute video of the horses and make my day. There are a lot of qualities that make a good trainer, but it’s these intangible ones that make a great one.

My daughter has been riding with Natalie for almost five years. Natalie’s barn (was Long Lake Acres in Orange County and now she has just moved for more pasture space to Deltona and rebranded as KnK) has always been a home away from home to my daughter and so many other great kids. Natalie is a talented, patient, and passionate trainer who truly loves teaching. My daughter has progressed from a lead line to winning classes at WEC and in other competitive arenas. But one of my favorite things about Natalie is that she teaches her students everything they need to know about caring for horses and always puts horse care above all else. We have been through hurricanes, unusual health challenges, and more with our horses since we have been with Natalie, and it gives us great peace to know that they are in her care.
