Very nice venue, but small and seemed crowded with very little personal space. Non amplified sound doesn't resonate well and the lighting reminded me of the supermarket meat counter.

We were in town last weekend to see Velour, A Drag Spectacular. The theatre was great, and the show was spectacular! My husband and I were riveted from the opening number to the finale. You too will be captivated by this historic event-it’s beautiful, fun, poignant, raw and humorous.

I went to the La Jolla Playhouse on Saturday to see The Ballad of Johnny and June.
The whole experience was pleasant. Everything ran smoothly and was organized.
It was easy to find the parking structure, there was a shuttle for those who needed it.
Entering the venue was a breeze and there were plenty of ushers to help you find your seat.
The seats were very comfortable and the production values, the actors, it was all top notch.

What a great venue! Seating is very comfortable and spacious. The staff was kind and accommodating. The campus was clean and beautiful. Parking is tricky with the construction happening, but staff was very patient and helped us find our way. (Google hasn't gotten the memo about the closed roads due to construction.)

Saw Sasha Velour's theatre piece and was very impressed. The theater itself is very interesting. The production value was fantastic and the show was an exciting piece of art.

See the good shows before they make the jump to Broadway. Why wait for the expensive national tours to come to the downtown theater? I saw a Tony award winning show this year and I didn't have to take out a line of home equity to do it.
