My parents and I adopted a dog from this shelter recently. We are so pleased with this facility and all of its workers. From the first day we visited, they were very kind to us, informative, and professional. We came back over the course of several days, and it was clear that the animals here are being very well taken care of. Our new family member has been doing so well at home and we couldn’t be more grateful for all the people who helped with his rescue! My family and I highly recommend this shelter for everyone!

The workers and volunteers at the animal shelter are extremely friendly and professional. I got out of the military and within the first month my childhood dog passed away. I went to this shelter and found an extremely well behaved, friendly, loving and loyal dog. Then noticed another dog had been there awhile and decided to adopt her and it has been the best decision I have ever made. The shelter is managed extremely well and taken care of by the staff. They do everything they can to give animals the best possible life in the shelter and after!

At the beginning of the year, my partner and I decided that it was time to adopt a dog. We have always been lovers of these extraordinary creatures so we began to visit places trying to find the one that would be the right one that would brighten up our home.   We arrived at the shelter from Laguna beach where a group of nice and friendly puppies lived, and one of them caught our attention immediately.  A scared little puppy who had only a few days after arriving at the shelter named Stu with whom we made a connection.  So we asked if he was available to be adopted to which they answered yes. But due to an injury to one of his legs the little Stu had to remain under medical observation.   That did not matter to us and we decided to fill out the application and from that day on every weekend  we went to visit little STU.  We asked about his condition to which they told us that he continued to have problems with his leg and his behavior with  other dogs, but when they told us that we were in the first place to adopt him.  We did not care how long we had to wait for that to happen so we declined other options and for more than three months we visited Stu every weekend.   We became too fond of him and we could feel that he loved us too.  It was frustrating to see him desperate for wanting to get out of his cage and it broke our hearts when we had to leave him with his sad and desolate.   They did not always give us many reports about his condition.  The workers knew us since we were there every weekend. they gave us direct access to the cage where our little friend was because he could not go out to the patio, until recently it turned out that someone else was able to adopt him.  It was very sad and disappointing, we understand that the puppy needs special conditions due to the problem in his leg, but it is not fair to play with the feelings and time of the people and the puppy himself.  We believe they did not the that under consideration.    In short, we feel that we were discriminated against because of our sexual orientation and maybe because I'm Mexican.

We adopted a doberman and got all medical records and vaccines up to date.

The woman at the front desk was rude to my children and I. She discouraged our family from adopting a pet
What is it a tax write off to hold animals and not let willing families adopt. I feel bad for the animals and hope she treats the animals better than she treats people.

I am editing my post after reviewing yours. Not to be rude. The older blonde woman with black eye liner ALLOWED us to go view the dogs, no tour, no comments. We walked up to the front and she ignored us. I said excuse me can you tell me about the 2 with the mom that said (whatever side was on the cage) she told me they wouldn't be ready for a long time. I forgot what my next question was. She shut us down and told me I should adopt a dog from another shelter. My sister and I were beyond shocked. I had my 2 children with me and I left.

I came in the shelter 3 weeks ago and went to see Sparky , a dog that has been there for over 2 years. I saw him over 2 years ago and was told that he would be adopted shortly.
He was there was over 2 years, a loving dog that would bring you his toy and just wanted love.
The woman that runs the shelter is rude and should be retrained to understand that the animals are her first responsibility. I still haven’t been told where Sparky ended up.

Came in to visit the shelter one afternoon when I walked into the facility no staff member greeted me instead a very rude staff member said “what do you want” in a very rude tone. When I told her I was interested in adopting a dog she didn’t even direct me or show me where to go she just told me that I can go outback and look at the dogs available for adoption. After I tell her the dog I was interested in she rudely tells me that I need to come visit again when the dogs are in the play yard and then rudely explains the adoption process. My advice to this shelter is treat prospective adopters with respect and kindness, I felt so unwelcome and disrespected that I will look at another shelter to adopt from.

Rude staff. Unclear directions.

They make you fill out an application just to interact with a potential pet, which is a waste of time for both the applicant and the shelter if its not a good match.

It's really just a place for the people behind the counter to hang out with each other and animals, its not about customer service for people who want to actually adopt. They need lessons in being friendly, clear, and encouraging of finding good homes for pets.
