Leon County Animal Control responded immediately to a loose dog issue when I called. The officer who responded, Ashley, was compassionate and professional with the dog at large, who was very scared. Although it took a long time, and eventually required back up, they secured the dog, saving it from the busy road nearby. Thanks so much for the assistance.

This place is no help in case of emergency of a hurricane. They will not help you in any way unless you have money that is bullshit. They are supposed to be there for people that need help and low income people that don’t have money. They are worthless when it comes to helping.

i’m absolutely livid! i called about 2 dogs crying in storm. they bark all the time perhaps crying for help! sherrif came and talked to owner. then left. animal control left a notice on my door! i own no dogs! notice said warning to me that i provide food water shelter for dogs. i called consolidated and said they would call me back at 8am. never heard from them. dogs are still whimpering and crying all the time… esp hot days or inclement weather. i know there are good people there however it doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out where to leave notice. and return the call.

They failed to care about animal abuse going on at Casa Bella hotel. Cats, dogs with matted hair in cages in hotel rooms, dogs living in a car - the Casa Bella hotel at 2850 Apalachee Pkwy. on Tallahassee. The lady leaves them barking in her car for long periods of time, the lady that answered the call wanted to know the callers name, stating it was ok! Extended periods of time in the heat, barking without any food! The emergency number has a lady, female who doesn't care about the animals, stated that doing this is a-ok to do continually on a regular basis!

She, the call taker of abuse wanted to rather investigate who the caller was.

They respond promptly to nuisance and dangerous animals. They also follow local ordinances precisely. It is important to document the complaint in pictures. Next, go to your bank and fill out the complaint form online and have it notarized. It is a tedious but fair process. The gentleman who captured the animals followed up the first time but not the second. He is very personable.

I appreciate the kindness the officers showed towards me and the animal they trapped. I appreciate the professionalism and care they took of their charge. Thank you for this service.

Animal control stole our dog. Rehomed our dog without notifying us and the dog was chipped. They changed it. They threatened us legally when we tried to get her back. Told us to get an attorney which is what we are now doing. They are the WORST people. What kind of people steal dogs that have owners? What kind of people adopt dogs and then threaten you for harassment? I’m glad I have voicemails and records to pursue legally but I want you all to know DO NOT TRUST THIS ANIMAL CONTROL. They lie. We did not know our dog was there. They saw well breeder small dog and stole. Now they put up road blocks. Anyone know a journalist? We have been writing a few to get this out to the public.

Adding---- These people are liars. Please avoid them at all costs. I understand that some have positive experiences but look at the majority. 2 stars. So I will post the screen shot from my voicemails. I am only replying and rather late because the response was in my spam that is now being cleaned. How do they have no record of this situation but then say we aren't responsible for housing? Yet they charge people who require emergency housing. Actually they lied you guys. i promise you. They told my niece she had x amount of days to get the dogs but she never told me and could not get the dogs because she was homeless and in college on a Christmas break. I found out 3 weeks after animal control rehomed that they were even there but guess what? Look at the screen shots. They have no record but a law enforcement officer called me trying to push weight and the false owner of the dogs called me. I was given Hamricks number from animal control to call to see if she would give us the dogs back. She was just as evil as they were. I explained to her one of the dogs was not my ours. She didn't even care. Suddenly im being threatened and told to get an attorney knowing animal attorneys in Tallahassee are nearly impossible. Animal control told me to get an attorney but see they prey on people and their pets. MAZI AND NOVA probably went to one of them or family. They didn't even post them on the animal control human society site as being adopted or needing a home. BUT anywho, God bless them. May they get everything they deserve returned. you can see in the shots that animal control left me a voicemail. This was them telling me to call Hamrick. Then you can see a LT calling me with an or else voicemail after I did nothing wrong. I also have a voicemail and email from hamrick and animala control. I can post if they still have no records of the threats. DON'T trust them. Get everything in writing and on voicemail. DO NOT leave your dogs in the care if you can help it.

I called animal control because two dogs in my neighborhood have attacked several other dogs and bit a person and charged at children. There are police reports on file as well as reports with Animal Control but they continue to tell me they can’t do anything unless we get the attacks on video. Richard Walker was of no help and the director Cara Aldridge actually laughed and was very unprofessional on the phone. I told her at the beginning of the conversation that I was very upset that nothing has been done yet and that I just wanted to speak with the director to see what could be done. What a joke she was! I hope they find a new director and that they get smart enough to start running nights and weekends when people let their dogs out....
