We have been at Los Lagos for over 2 years and we love it! Great facility with direct trail access to Folsom Lake, exceptional riding and training program, and a fun, family-oriented atmosphere. Heather Kelly is a fabulous instructor. She really knows how to support and encourage her students. Her lesson horses are gentle and reliable. At Los Lagos you will meet lots of different people - from seniors who have ridden all their lives to beginners just checking it out, serious competitors and weekend pleasure riders, and girls who just love horses. My daughter and I have greatly improved in our riding, and our horse is happy and well cared for. Its a great place whether you want to show, trail ride, or just hang out!

Ownership here is focused primarily on money. Complete disregard for the animals. Their services are a farse. Turn outs do not happen on schedule, nor regular feeding times. Most everyone at this facility is polite but a handful of gals have little to no experience and jeopardize the safety of others with their poor horsemanship and sorry attitudes. The owner is extremely rude and does not maintenance the facility leaving stall doors, and watering bins broken. They have BS metal fans that run in the summer time and do practically nothing for the patrons or the animals. When we put up our own fan for our horse we were told that the electrical breaker box could not withstand the voltage of a personal box fan but it can somehow handle 3 large metal fans at once blowing hot air about the barn. We followed the guidelines in the contract to a "T" to no avail and received an eviction notice to be out of the facility in only 7 days. Owner avoids phone calls and relays via text message. Don't believe me or disagree come and enjoy your stay at this run down pile of an excuse for an equestrian center. Beware!

I just love Los Lagos Equestrian Center. They are safe, professional, and reliable. Most importantly they are helpful, whenever you have any questions they are willing to answer and give you good advice, on top of being helpful there is also a great support system if anything comes up. I am glad I chose this barn to learn and board at, and I think my horses agree.

I have riden for may years and been at several barns throughout the years. Some very top notch. Los lagos is situated in one of the most beautiful settings in California with access to Folsom lake and trails. While some facilities might have more it comes with a price tag. Los Lagos is reasonably priced with great options for training and pocket book. One of the things I like most about this barn is the owner's,trainers and people at the barn. It's NOT all about the money. They truely care for the well being of your horse and you.Both Carrie and Jill have extensive experience and knowledge in the hunter/jumper arena. Both do ride and will get on your mount to educate the rider. At some barns this is not the case.
Additionally the parties,trail rides and off barn activites make this a very special place.
After reading some comments from A.B, I'd personaly like to address some of these.
1) It's apparent you have not trained in the past at any reputable training barns because if you had you'd know the pricing is closer to double for the same services
2) A training log? I've trained with an olympic trainer as well as many other top trainers. NONE do this!
If you felt your horse was NOT being properly trained you should have REMOVED IT!!!
3) Your horse never progressed? The insinuation that your horse was improperly treated is both liable and slanderous in nature. ALL horses here at Los Lagos are ALWAYS treated with kindess and trained exceptionally well.
4) your having trouble getting him back to work? sounds like you don't know how to ride and perhaps should spend time in the seat instead of having others ride your horse.
5) changing shows at a barn is quite commeon due to how many other riders will be attending any particular show.

Lastley you just flat out sound like a SPOILED BRAT whom wasn't getting ALL the attention. It's a common problem in America today.
