Lovely venue. Great sound. Enjoyed my show. More bathrooms and a smoking section closer to upstairs would have made it a lot better. Have to mention a double whiskey and 2 waters cost me $30. Puch.

The Theater itself was seriously beautiful, and I loved seeing the photos of the restoration work!
Very impressive place with lots of history!
Went to watch The Nutcracker ballet, but tickets were kinda pricey.
Seating was pretty good, and had a great time ?

Beautiful place. Seats are large and comfortable. I am 6'2" and had plenty of leg room. Restroom was clean. Acoustics are excellent. Smaller venue, all seats are good. Great place to see a show. Go early, parking can be a challenge if the McWayne deck is not open.

My 3rd time at The Lyric. To have this in Birmingham is just amazing. The staff... just couldn't be any nicer. Floor seats are padded bottom and back. I saw Ryan Adams there 6/18/24, and the sound was amazing. He even made a comment about how great everything was. If you have a chance, go! I'm proud that this is in Birmingham, and that bands choose to play this intimate 750 seat gem.

The "Lyric Theatre" in Birmingham, Alabama.

Lyric Theatre, built in 1914 for Vaudeville, has seen such acts as "The Marx Brothers," "Will Rogers," and "Milton Berle."
Milton Berle said it was one of his favorite places to perform.

There was a period when the place just sat empty.
It's said that during this period, Mr. Milton Berle himself told the owners that he'd do some free shows if they'd open the place back up. That's the rumor.
Still, though, it sat.

The place recently went through an 11 Million Dollar Renovation and was opened back up.
It's mainly for performing arts such as ballet, opera, symphony, and other types of music.
Tonight, I was taking my Mother to see "Three On A String with Guest Star Sean Dietrich."

We arrived early and found our seats.
The Staff and Volunteers were so Friendly and Helpful.
The show began at 3 pm sharp, and wow, what a show it was!

Three On A String, combined with Sean Dietrich, was excellent.
It felt as though Sean had been a part of the group the whole time instead of being a Guest.

A Christian Oriented Show with "The Devil Went Down To Georgia" mixed in. —They said they got away with singing that song because the devil loses. That is the best way to describe this particular performance.

There were many laughs throughout the show, but a fella couldn't help but tear up when Sean Dietrich sang "Silent Night" in German. He dedicated it to his German Grandparents and also told stories of his Grandparents.

As I said earlier, the show started at 3 pm, and by 5:30-ish, it was over.

"Sean Of The South" has done shows all over America.
The same can be said of "Three On A String."
So, if you get the chance, try to see their show. You won't be disappointed.

And if you get the chance to see any show at the "Lyric Theatre," take it.
Lyric Theatre never disappoints.
