This is an amazing venue, with excellent seating, sight lines and acoustics.
I was very impressed by the Newport Symphony Orchestra, a truly professional group of musicians. I had no idea that this organization is over four decades old! The performance was phenomenal, magnificent, and IMHO the equal of anything in larger cities like Portland that I have experienced, with a more intimate venue than the large Portland concert hall.
I enjoyed the social gathering after the performance, where I met some of the musicians (who come from all over, not just the local community). It's obvious that this venue is a source of pride and comradery for the community.
There were some empty seats. I expect those were season tickets that had not been used for this evening. I think it would be beneficial for season ticket holders to allow their seats to either be resold for a given performance, or given to youth in the local high school or other program, when they will not be used by the holder.

The Christmas show this year was very bad. I had to struggle to stay awake. The scenes were dragged out for far too long. No intermission was exhausting 😴 😪 The singing was the only thing that really gave me a bit of Christmas spirit.

The caliber of talent possessed by the actors, singers, and staff is outstanding. They used a Bistro style set up for a band group in the David Stiers Theater recently. Not only did it work, the patrons loved it.

I was disappointed in our seats. I waited too long to make reservations so I did not have a great choice. I would not recommend the side balcony seats. While we were close to the stage, there were stage lights and speakers and pole to hinder the view of the stage. The seats were folding chairs there as well. There were also chairs in the back corner of the theater which I would avoid. For the next event I want to attend, I will be sure to buy tickets earlier. All other theater seats seemed good. Since it is a smaller venue, there are many good seats. The three of us who attended the Fiddler on The Roof enjoyed it very much and are looking forward to seeing future plays by Red Octopus Theater Company. We are fortunate to have the Company in Newport.

A very nice venue for stage performance. Has a state of the art sound system. Look it up! The volunteers for the Jazz Party I attended were beyond compare. Nicest most helpful, fun people ever!

Absolutely delightful facility and staff! Even telecast shows are worth it, the screen is massive and the sound is excellent.
