I’ve played around 25 escape rooms and if you haven’t tried off the couch games yet, GO NOW! We’ve completed chapters 1-3 so far and had so much fun through each experience. The fun thing is that the stories to each room are connected and you and your team get so invested in what happens next. I think most chapters are fine with 2-4 but having 6 people, especially in chapter 3 would be best. Additionally the staff here is exceptional!We had Jo in all chapters (you can request specific staff to run your game if you’d like) and she was the best! I HIGHLY recommend these escape rooms. The staff work incredibly hard and they deserve all the praise and nominations! We will be back!

I recently did Occam's Apartment with my friends. It was one of the best escape rooms I've ever done! Our staff member Jack was super cool and made the experience awesome. We will definitely be returning for the other 2 escape rooms here very soon!

We came here on two consecutive days after booking on a whim, and this is as good as it gets with escape rooms. Our hosts, Jack and Jo, were just stupendous. Their enthusiasm was just infectious and they made our experience that much better!

What an AMAZING experience. Most of us were kind of nervous going into it because of the anticipation of the live actors. The staff were super friendly and you can tell they are passionate about what they do. They made us feel very welcoming and did not rush anything. A lot of places start you ASAP to make up the time. Speaking of time… this place did things differently. So the time stated for each chapters were 110, 90 and 120 respectively for first 3 chapters. If you go past the 110 minutes, time starts being taken out of the next rooms. If you don’t use up the full 110, well, that’s more time for your following rooms. If you pass the games and still have time remaining, you get credit back that time. Another unique thing is if you want to stop, you can “save your game” and resume where you left off another time. Upon arriving, you’re allowed to grab drinks and they will charge you later. You can bring the drinks into the rooms with you.

Our group is nuts and we chose to do all 3 rooms in one day… Our plan was to start the first room at 1pm and finish first 2 chapters by 3 something and have a break to get boba and donuts nearby. Unfortunately… we suck and didn’t get out on time so we didn’t have that break and most of us were burned out. We couldn’t get our boba and donuts. We had a short break until jumping into chapter 3. The staff were nice enough to offer us snacks to give us energy. This may not be for everyone but I highly recommend doing all 3 if you can - or at least don’t spend too much time apart. Like don’t do chapter 1 and then wait months to do chapter 2. Doing it same day or close apart will keep the memory fresh and really play into the immersion.

We had a great time speaking with Nick, the owner, and the other staff members - Jo, Nick, and Kenneth. They were all passionate and loved what they were doing. You can feel the energy and positive vibes from each of them. Usually places that don’t have that energy, it rubs off on the players and it isn’t as enjoyable so I’m glad that wasn’t the same at Off The Couch Games. Nick said he has done 1500 rooms… that definitely tells you how much of an escape room enthusiast he is. The staff told us about their plans for expanding this game into 12 chapters. They really value the experience and story line more than a typical escape room filled with bunch of combo locks, number codes, key locks, etc. They told us that they are currently petitioning to the Mayor of Fremont in order to get the green light to further expand their rooms. Fingers crossed because we are so looking forward to continuing the story line. We were told chapter 4 would include dinner with the mayor…? the food can be as low as McDonald’s grade to Michelin Star grade. That sounds SOOO interesting.

Your decisions in the games matter and affect how your other games play out so think carefully. Hopefully the city of Fremont makes the right decision so we can continue have such amazing, high quality escape rooms for us at Off the Couch Games. Please drop by! Hands down the best escape room experience. For my ?s out there, it’s not that bad. You got this.

As a seasoned escape room enthusiast that has done over 30 escape rooms across the US, I can confidently recommend the escape games here at Off the Couch. The games here are connected with a single story line that affects your subsequent games. You are active characters in this story and your choices matter. I love this approach and it feels like I am in a actual game. The puzzles were fun and there is a good amount of difficulty, searching, role playing, and twist and turns to keep you on your toes.
The biggest thing that made our experience great was the care and attentiveness of the staff. If you are blessed to get Jo as a game master then you are in for a great time.
Definitely check them out for a good time 🙂
Another note that I think should be mentioned is that they refund you money for solving the room before the allotted time. This money can be used towards your next game with them.

Off The Couch Games has THE BEST escape rooms I’ve ever done. I would highly recommend them (and have recommended them) to practically everyone I know. It is so insanely immersive and engaging. The storylines are also so interesting. This place has the most unique escape rooms that I’ve ever experienced with their usage of having continuous chapters of a storyline that you get to come back and try. The rooms are super creative and some of them even utilize video game technology in a way that I’ve never seen anywhere. I cannot wait for them to add new rooms! I want to do a new room ASAP ?

Special shoutout to our host, Han, who after the game was able to answer all our questions and made us feel like we accomplished a lot ? The entire staff here is awesome and everytime I return (I’ve been there 3 times so far) I feel like I’m seeing an old friend.

This place is really something special. I’m so excited for the next chapters!

the escape room was so good that we came for chapter 1 one night and then came back immediately the next day for chapter 2!

escape room: truly the best escape room I've participated in! everything was so immersive and engaging - you can tell a ton of thought and intent went behind the plot and world building.

team: the staff here truly go above and beyond! everyone was so kind (especially our host Jack & Ken at the front desk for our first visit and Jo for our second visit) throughout the entire experience during the intro and outro! our group was the last group of the day, so the 4 staff members stayed after closing to answer a bunch of our questions!

time transfer: if you complete the escape room with time to spare (aka before the time is up) the remaining minutes on your clock roll over to your next game which is super unique!

will definitely be coming back for chapter 3 and recommending to all my friends!

We had a fantastic time with Occam's Apartment. It's one of our top escape room experiences. The puzzles were very nicely designed and Antonio was a great game host. Highly recommend this place and Antonio as your host.
