The Old Fort is absolutely amazing! We toured the Fort which was only about $2-$3 a piece and that also included visiting the museum next door (I don’t recall the name of it sorry) but it was just as amazing seeing all the items people used way back when. But back to the Fort there are actually people there while you’re touring the Fort who are doing demonstrations showing you how they spun thread, made brooms, there’s an old blacksmith shop with someone showing you how things were forged, there’s an old jail, the old schoolhouse, there’s an are explaining how they cured meat. It’s just an amazing place to visit and take your kids to see how ancestors lived. My kids and I loved touring it and they even have a few animals there you can pet.

This is a wonderful park, especially if you are interested in Kentucky history. Several interpreters were on site and each one that we spoke with had so much knowledge to share. We learned some interesting things about Daniel Boone for instance! The museum has lots of fascinating displays and each fort building had someone inside to talk about life in the fort, blacksmithing, weaving, soap making, etc. you could easily spend a couple hours here.

Loved it! Self guided tour & because if the weather we were the only ones there. Liked the recorded message in each building. The attendant was very nice & cheerful. Only paid $6 for the birth of us since it was off season & we are seniors.

Great time! $3.00 a head. Lol. It was a cold rainy day, in February, some snow on the ground. My wife and I were the only two tourists in the Fort. The buildings that were open had recordings giving the history of each buildings use. The lady with the park staff was fabulous and fun to talk with. We may try to come back when nicer weather arrives. Well worth the $6.00!!!

Very nice area. Unfortunately when we were there the Fort was closed up. There is an amazing Osage orange tree there that's huge. The pioneer graveyard was interesting to walk through. This area is rich with history.
