My friend and I got put on the waitlist for a show that cost $8. When we were allowed in, the price was $25. Absurd markup that takes advantage of the atmosphere so you're less likely to turn away. Very manipulative and scummy. Would not recommend.

The Trashion Show is held here every year and I love this space!
Cozy, yet easy to be transported to another world.

The people here are kind and inclusive. I was new in town and had not made any friends. An artist who worked in events here invited me to a meeting for their yearly event, The Trashion Show and just then I knew I found my people. More local events should be held here to help raise funds to keep the lights on. Main Street would not be the same with out this place

Edit - took my 5 star to a 2 star.
Attended the Burlesque show last night and had a fantastic time! First time coming to Cottage Grove and the Opal. Unfortunately I just found out they did not pay the performers. I was not aware that the $15 charge was not in some way going towards the performers.

some wonderful performances are done here on a small scale, lots of volunteer work, plenty of super-friendly actors and cast and staff and all that. I highly recommend seeing performances done at the Opal Center.
