We saw "Tolkien". The dialog was very well written, and the acting superb.
There's no other theatre in the Cities that consistently features (mostly) family-friendly, values-based, serious content. We'll definitely be back.

Just saw the Tolkien show, and it was a great production. From the acting to the set and production level, every aspect was top notch.

The shows just keep getting better and better. We have seen a few over the years and this one just takes it to the next step.

We have also had our kids in their summer programs and our children have enjoyed it. Solid experience and wholesome.

I saw the play A Christmas Carol here, and it was really good. Even the special effects surprised me with how good they were (I was not expecting much since it is such a small theater). The acting was extremely well done and very professional. The children actors were excellent as well! Highly recommend.

First time we visited OWT and enjoyed 'Tolkien' very much. One of the better performances we have experienced by a small theater company and a unique facility. One surprise was the seating - patio chairs. It was not uncomfortable, just unexpected.

Yesterday, we took three adult children and two others to Open Window Theatre's A Christmas Carol. I have always loved theatre but only if they have somewhat faithful interpretations of plays. The theatre captured the essence of A Christmas Carol. I was particularly impressed by the actor who played Scrooge.

I don't want to oversell Open Window Theatre. The theatre has competition with other theatres with a much higher budget and better building. It isn't lower cost that has made us fans of Open Window Theatre; it is fidelity to the spirit of plays without overlaying of political or cultural biases of today.

I've been a CORE patron for four or five years or so and Open Window Theatre doesn't disappoint! It doesn't matter if it's an original play, a classic play, or one about a Saint. I bring either a friend or a sibling along whenever I come see a performance and we both always enjoy it. I have so many good memories with each play, whether it's laughing during "Leaving Iowa" (an original play they did a year or two ago) or being captivated during "Macbeth", which they did earlier this year.

My favorite plays, though, are probably the Saint plays they do. In fact, my two favorite plays are "Lolek," which is about one of my favorite Saints, Pope St. John Paul II, and "Frassati", which is about (soon to be Saint) Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati. I admit I didn't know anything about Blessed Frassati until I saw the play Open Window Theatre did a couple years ago. I immediately fell in love with his story and, even though he's quite not canonized yet, he became one of my favorites. This undoubtedly shows how powerful these plays are and how much time and effort the cast and crew put into these stories.

I'm going to be attending the "Tolkien" play soon, which I'm really excited for. Not only do I know it's going to be good, I absolutely love J. R. R. Tolkien and his works (particularly "The Hobbit" and "The Lord of the Rings"). When I saw Open Window Theatre was going to do a play on him, I got so excited! I also heard they are going to do one on St. Joan of Arc, which I'm also extremely excited for as she is my Confirmation Saint. All I can say is Open Window Theatre is doing the Lord's work by providing us with powerful, impactful, life-changing stories. Please continue what you guys are doing!

"Tolkien" is an excellent production at this homey theater! The acting was impressive and although the play is long, it keeps viewers engrossed and entertained. I attended as two couples and we loved the show, especially for the reasonable ticket price! I appreciate this local theater!

My first time at Open Window Theatre was truly Amazing! My cousin and I were grateful for everyone who opened a door for us, smiled and were so thoughtful. We both had a pleasant time and enjoyed the play immensely.
For those who arrive early for the show, they have board games, a pool table and a foosball table in the lobby. The concessions are available before the shows and during intermission. They have lovely decor, and the surroundings are relaxing as well.
The stage was exquisitely designed. The acting was emotional and phenomenal!! Bravissimo to all who were apart of Mercy Unrelenting!
The back stage workers timed everything perfectly between scenes. The lighting was quite effective as well. The music fit in with the play quite well. I have not seen such a tragic story portrayed in a play before. Despite the sadness, faith, hope and love prevailed.
I am looking forward to watching another play in the near future!
