The Orange City Tulip Festival is my favorite weekend of the entire year! So many community volunteers put on an amazing festival full of parades, music, authentic Dutch costumes and food, and such a safe and welcoming environment for any age! There's always new parts of the festival so make sure to mark your calendars for the third weekend in May!

Attended the 82nd Tulip Festival… what an arrangement.. went early to that place and thus had enough time to explore.. there was a place allocated for all variety of tulips…. It was very colorful… Then had a road tour along with a guide… she explained about the Dutch culture and the story about the Tulip annual festival!!! Then, watched a dance performance by the school kids… it was fantastic… after that went for food at the food court… variety of foods were there along with some cold drinks!!! Finally, the climax of the day the parades… Excellent parades… what a wonderful day!! Had a great time….

It was impressive to see a community celebrating their heritage. The parade was pleasant with lots of good floats. There were beautiful tulips all over, and they smelled great!

To poster Tyler Thomas. You do a negative review because tulips are dead? First, there were plenty of live tulips. Second, tulips grow and die based on the weather. Last I heard, Orange City had no control over weather. Regarding food, I saw several vendors peddling authentic food, so not sure how close you were looking. Finally, we arrived about 9:30 on Saturday morning and parked two blocks from the venues. If you can't handle that atrocity (sarcasm intended), then clearly festivals aren't for you. Orange City, you did a great job. Fantastic little community and a great festival. My wife and I can't wait until next year.

All the tulips were dead. There was no authentic Dutch food, just the typical food you'd find at a fair. Parking was a nightmare. I wouldn't go back. Might be fun for little kids but definitely not for teenagers or adults. Think "children of the corn" in Dutch costumes.

Five star hangout!

I was first introduced to the Tulip Festival when I was a young kid living in Hartley Iowa. Our school made an annual pilgrimage over to view the blooms and ponder life in wooden shoes. The dutch were often a source of interest to us German heritage farm types, so naturally this festival grew on me over the years and now I make it one of my yearly destinations. You will not find a more lovely group of people that those of Orange City who, to their credit, have been able to hold on to their pride in heritage-- even among the young! Anyone in the urban melting pot areas of America may not fully appreciate pride of heritage, but these Dutch folk have it going on and in the right direction! If you get extra time in your visit, be sure to take a drive around the countryside too and see the beautifully kept dutch farms in this area!

Take a step back in time and learn all about the traditional Dutch culture! Throughout the entire festival you can see people wearing traditional Dutch costumes from different colonies and time periods. They also walk around in wooden clogs.
This is a great family event. They have carnival rides for all ages, lots of food and craft vendors, parades daily. Walk around see the different color tulips everywhere in Orange City. There is something for everybody.
