How did the Renaissance Faire become just a freak show? My teen son was appalled more than he enjoyed it. While it was amazing to view the fun shows; jousting, horses, fun, raptors, other entertainers- we were somewhat shocked at the social impact of this present world. I asked when the Ren faire turned into what it is now. 2020 I'm told. It's been a fresh 10 years since I've been and who knows if I could attend again. It's too bad.
Plus Turkey legs which are no longer as large as your head, are $20 and so are burgers that make you sick. $5 for a bottle of water from Costco?! I know you have to make money but the expense just to attend makes it all too hard to justify going again.
Bow makers who ensure me that their arrows are completely good for use, yet they aren't even wrapped.... It makes you think that someone willing to sell you a "usable" bow that is really meant for decor for $375 plus $35 around where the feather plumes will likely cut through your hand. Nice 👍

I had such a good time with my friends!! Highly recommend a good group, really makes it the best. It was really cool to see everyone dressed up and just having a good time. The shops are really fun but I do wish there had been an easier map to understand where things were in addition to when things were. The food is definitely overpriced but not surprising. And there's only one spot for alcohol so the like is super long so be prepared for that. The performances were alright, nothing spectacular. I just had more fun wandering the shops and hanging with everyone. Definitely recommend you go just know what you're getting into!

Third year going, always a good time. Highly suggest seeing some of the performances while you are there (bring cash for tips). If you find yourself needing to just sit down for a while I really do suggest just seeing what stage has some space in the crowd and sitting there because you never know what's going to be incredibly entertaining. Always a fantastic mix of booths to acquire goods at, things to experience, and fantastically dressed people to interact with. Don't feel like you have to be dressed up to go to a renfaire. If you want to come in civilian clothes that is absolutely fine and fair, but make sure your shoes are comfortable.
Also, if you are interested in turkey legs, the meat pies or the Apple turnovers make sure you go to the food area early to get those because they always run out. The sausage rolls and meat pies will tuck into your bag really nicely, so if you get them early you can carry them until you're ready to eat.

One of my favorite Faires to work and play! Well run with excellent food choices and shows. You won’t be disappointed! Hunt for fairies with Wotan, go visit the joust arena, and make sure to courtesy the king!

We always have an amazing time at the faire. They got a bit bigger this year, the jousting, and fighting is always a highlight Go Scotland!!!! The after hours show was so fun with the 80's theme this year, and the firedancers are amazing!!! All around an amazing time with amazing people!!! The vendors and performers are amazing people!

Lots of fun! A lot of people so be mindful of that, but there where water filling stations, areas to sit, and plentiful fun decor. There’s many fun performances to watch but it’s a good plan to bring money for the amount of artists here:) bring cash though, or you’ll overspend! And maybe grab something to keep track of which performances you want to see

I haven't gone in awhile even though I had a blast years back, I returned and it's only gotten better! Everyone is very friendly, the atmosphere is so nice. Hydration is prioritized, bring your water bottle! Please treat yourself to jousting & all the incredible vendors there, seriously there are so many!! Along with entertainment wherever you turn from flaming axes to swallowing swords to puppet shows & more. Plus the food is great & not pricey 👍

This is our second year at Ren Faire in Canby. We love seeing everyone dressed up. The venue is a good space. Lots of great vendors and activities. We enjoy the shows, too. They have ax throwing (we haven't tried yet). But we did try archery there, which was fun. They also have fun activities like their dragon search that my daughter loved doing as we were exploring all vendors. The food vendors were good but definitely spendy. I do have an issue with how dusty it can get, but it is what it is. It's still a great place to go to for the whole family! Definitely dress up (or not).
