We watched Chicago. Great cast and an amazing show put on by the local musical theater group.

The Palace theater itself is cute. Was a nice vibe with the older theater style and decor. The seats are reasonably cramped and it can get hot in there. It's not a reason not to come to shows here - but good to be prepared in advance 🙂

The Palace Theater is one of Hilo’s crown jewels.
Dating back to the early part of 20th century, it houses a lovely stage for live performances and a screen for viewing both vintage and modern films. And the lobby is large enough to hold concerts as well.
The most unusual and wonderful feature is the Pipe organ. I attended the Nutcracker ballet this month and we were privileged to hear Christmas carols played on the organ by a local gentleman who is an expert on the instrument.

Throughout the year one can attend a variety of events to suit all ages with admission that’s affordable.

We are grateful to have a place like the Palace for fine arts and cultural entertainment.

A diamond in the rough. East Hawaii's charming historic theater awaits a well-deserved full restoration. Classic layout, nice seating, visibility. Enjoy coming to events here in the evenings when tradewinds blow.

Hilo Palace Theater was so nice to watch "Waterman" in. The theater is has online and in person ticket sales with open seating. We just got to the theater a little early to pick out our seats. There is also a cafe for food and drinks if anyone would like refreshments before or during the film. Check this place out if you have a chance.

Wonderful shows, and the theater is a lovely old, well-kept venue. However, the audience roasts. How the performers made it through several great shows is likely because they had room to move around on stage. Solar panels and air-conditioning or at least Costco-sized fans would greatly help the packed house enjoy great entertainment.

Great venue! Fair prices. All the seats looked like good ones. But tight for my 6'4" husband, but for us short folk it was great! The HS select jazz band was GREAT! (We liked them more than the headliners off the cruise ship)

Quaint, historic, lovely feel in the Palace Theatre. The acoustics are wonderful also.
There’s no air conditioning nor fans, so grab a program to fan yourself. It gets pretty hot and stuffy. Overall- definitely a landmark in Hilo
