The Perelman Performing Arts Center (PAC NYC) is a striking new addition to New York’s World Trade Center site, designed by REX. The building’s most notable feature is its translucent marble façade, a unique blend of Portuguese marble and glass that gives the structure a luminous, almost ethereal quality. By day, the marble allows natural light to penetrate, creating a subtle glow, while at night, the building radiates from within, thanks to its intricate internal lighting, transforming it into a beacon for the city’s cultural scene.

The architectural choice to fully enclose the space limits outward visibility, which can feel restrictive given its location among iconic city views. This approach, while elegant and unified, perhaps overlooks the potential for more interactive sightlines that could integrate the city’s landmarks into the experience. With each floor offering increasingly beautiful perspectives, the design could have leveraged this verticality by introducing some transparency—allowing visitors to enjoy New York’s skyline from within while maintaining the privacy needed for performances.

Inside, the PAC NYC offers an innovative and highly adaptable space. The center includes three theaters with moveable walls, adjustable seating, and configurable layouts, allowing for diverse artistic productions, from theater and dance to music and opera. This flexibility, combined with the elegant Rockwell-designed lobby and restaurant, makes PAC NYC not just a performance venue but an experiential space.

In essence, the Perelman Performing Arts Center is a bold architectural statement that succeeds in creating an iconic visual impact and a highly functional space. Still, a more open approach could have enhanced its relationship with New York’s vibrant cityscape, making it a fully integrated urban experience

Visited PAC NYC on a Wednesday afternoon to watch a musical - “cats: the jellicle ball”. The stage for this production was very interactive, with the front row audience just beside the performers. Really recommend to watch a production here if you have the time in NYC. Since PAC NYC was just opened recently in September 2023, the facilities and equipments are still in really good condition.

Saw Cats there and throughly enjoyed it! My first time at this new venue and they did a wonderful job! Restaurant has a small outdoor bar and seating area. In general seems like a nice place to get a drink or bite before or after a show.

Went to a lobby jazz performance. We opted to sit at the bar... Ashley is an excellent bar person, made some fabulous cocktails, I had a Razzle Dazzle:
tequila, prickly pear, lime, vanilla simple, cotton candy...delish my girl friend had a margarita.
To start we had 1/2 dozen oysters & an amazing Snapper Aguachile
cucumber vierge, pickled peppers, tostone chips
OMG!!!! The service and the food made my tongue dance.
Thank you chef Sherri for hooking us up and our amazing bar- tempest and her fabulous side kick Andrés for such great covo & laughs

I like the fact that this place exists, & that I indirectly helped assemble the light fixtures inside & out. But I got here thinking the lobby was a public atrium, but it's a box office with a nice restaurant & cool seating areas. Suppose I could've gone inside and relaxed during a busier time.

The Perelman Performing Arts Center opened on September 13, 2021. It’s a multi-space performing arts center located at the intersection of Vesey, Fulton, and Greenwich Streets in Lower Manhattan. It’s named for billionaire Ronald Perelman, who donated $75 million to its construction. It was designed by architect Joshua Prince-Ramus.
