RUDE, RUDE, RUDE staff
Acting like I’m the one who abandoned a dog and abused it when I was only trying to bring it to pound buddies so they can do THEIR job. Cringy Karen energy on the phones and when I’ve been there In person like they are above the public or something . The smacking of the teeth, eye rolls, long exaggerated sighs are just so annoying. Extremely rude people in my opinion. Yes they do good over all but very annoying. Once found an abandoned starving dog I wanted to adopt and they also ghosted me when my family showed up trying to inquire. 😑 never associating with these people and will only use Kent county animal shelters for returning or surrendering found strays

My dog Haven has been missing for months now…and he’s microchipped in my name and so the microchip company called me and Pound Buddies. The next day I called back and they said someone came to get my dog with what didn’t seem legit documents and yet the microchip company told them I was the rightful owner and they thought it was shady and still gave my dog away…To call me and was happy to make the trip down there to get my dog back but to find out they gave him to some random person was so heartbreaking. What’s the point of having a microchip and all of his paperwork and adoption certificates just to give my dog away…This is not right. And now I’ll have to make a few trips there and back since in a different state just to press charges. And to get my kids hopes up too…They lost their dad and the last thing we all did as a family was to go get a dog together and our best friend. Spent all this money. We got let down again. I’ve lost everything in my life and my dog was keeping me together. I’ve felt lost and heartbroken without him. With a microchip supposed to give 7 days to the rightful owner and if they didn’t call me later I would of been down there that night. 6 hour drive. But I was gonna come out the next morning. They never called me back. I called back just to find out they gave him away illegally. That’s just not right. Had so much proof to bring of ownership. 😭💔 He’s my baby who I just wanna be here with me…And I have witnesses and proof how this is all accurate. And even the microchip company know too. And are upset by it. Not how things are supposed to be done. It says they are the best place to reunite pets with their rightful owners but they didn’t in this case so I don’t know about that.

We visited the shelter several times before we found and adopted our buddy, and we had a great experience with the staff and volunteers. Email communication was great, and in person was the same. They take good care of the animals and exercise, walk and play with dogs often.

Not willing to help those that can't communicate by email or texting. Their policy," they are not willing to communicate with someone on the phone who wants to adopt. I understand this organization is a volunteer but they lack good leadership. Wanted to adopt two dogs, but the bottom line is two dogs will be put down because of this type of policies. Yes, someone else will adapt two dogs but at the same time two dogs will be put down at some point. I just don't see people standing in line to adopt them. All we wanted to do was adapt to dogs but this organization doesn't seem to want to help dogs truly find a home. Discriminating against the elderly who don't understand today technology or embrace it.

I recently adopted my new forever best fur friend from here and I have to say I was really impressed with the way they ran their rescue. They help a LOT of animals and are very legitimate if you're thinking about donating.

Great organization. Great pets to adopt. I wish they were less full but that is a society issue not theirs. They do a great job helping as much as they can. Great volunteers and staff. Please adopt and don't add to the problem.

Lady was very rude im very sensitive nd new to town just trying to adopt a kitty for my mental needs but I was slapped in the face with poor costumer service so if they treat ppl like that imagine the poor babies in there
