We had a dog that wouldn't leave our house. we took it to Putnam County Animal Control, the Dog had a chip. (by the way, the friendliest, most loving dog!) They tried for 10 days to reach the owner. They allowed me to come back and get him so he has a loving home! They are fantastic workers, They really care about the animals.

The staff are amazing & compassionate workers who care about the welfare of the animals under their care. They assured me that several organizations come there to help get the animals adopted. The facility is run down & in a remote location near the county landfill. A worker told me they are getting a new building next year. They certainly deserve better working conditions. They are angels.

They are too dam sorry to even answer there phone I'm sure that's just more Putnam county tax payers money going to waste to pay someone that won't even do there job because they don't wanna be disturbed while at work when there job is to answer the phone....only in Putnam county fl were the animals run animal control

I pay taxes. I'd pay more if they just come when they'd say they would. I still have the 2 feral kittens my son caught. People - spay/neuter your pets!! Dang! Animal Control - show up when you say you will. Honor your word or call!!

These people should ot be in the position they are in. This is the most incompetent, pathetic animal control office I've ever dealt with. We as a neighborhood on Bonita dr, have reported dog abuse and severe neglect to a dog that is chained up by a tree in a yard that is under water at times who never has food unless the neighbors feeds him. We all have to take turns feeding it because the abusive owner doesn't feed it. We've reported him beating the dog as well as neglect and these sorry people do nothing to help. They are a pathetic excuse for animal control officers. Incompetence at its worst!

My wife and I volunteer walking the dogs at this facility from time to time. The staff is absolutely AMAZING! I feel for these folks who work 7 days a week and only get paid for 5. They deal with so much thrown at them and they do their best to care for the animals. Shame on the county council for promising a new shelter year after year and doing nothing about it. If you are not happy with the way this facility is run, try volunteering, or better yet.... get the county to build a new facility away from a dump! Thank you to all who work at this facility!
