My wife and I went to see the production of Oliver tonight. The theater itself is gorgeous. The play was very good and we will be back again.

Dating back to another period of the history of Americus is the Rylander Theater. Relatively plain in a neoclassical way to its exterior, its interior has been restored to its former art deco glory.

When it first opened, the Rylander was a vaudeville theater, which encompasses performances of song, dance and comedy.

Step inside for yourself and you’ll soon realize why this performance space has survived for one hundred years. Its thick red velvet curtains decorated with gold brocade are really only just the start.

Moving on from its vaudeville days, today ticket holders can enjoy performances of its rare original 1928 Moller Theater Pipe Organ, drama, and musicals.

This place is a hidden gem to those who’ve never been!! If a first timer to Americus to see a play here, mark out some extra time to be able to take in what a cute and preserved downtown they have. Beautiful theatre and the local play group that performed Annie blew me away!! I was not expecting any of this and so glad to have experienced the Rylander in Americus, Ga!!

Came here for the Wilson Fairchild concert. Beautiful old theater. Only thing that could have been better was to clean the stains out of the plumbing fixtures in the bathroom, but they all worked, which is most important. Really nice staff and loved the architecture.

Show was one of the best! Only negative was sound. Some people weren't miced up correctly and could only hear because I was on the front row.

Absolutely love this theatre! One of the most historic and beautiful theatres you will ever see. Built in the 1920s and still houses the original Moller Organ. Al Capone was rumored to have attended here when he was known to sometimes winter in the area. But just a beautiful venue that has lots of great shows year after year. They do have a great resident theatre troup but also host renowned shows from all over the country and the world. Can not say enough good about this place!
