Is a great park, and seems to attract really nice people to meet and chat with for the most part. It would be great if more trees could be planted around the fence as it is really sunny and hot sometimes. Also would be great to remove the artificial turf around the seating area/shelter as it is nasty and smells terrible. Would be better to just have concrete there so that it can be kept clean. Another suggestion would be to provide some surface which is higher up from the benches where people can put water bottles and other items so they are safe from being knocked over by the dogs.

There is an expansive large dog area and a small dog area which is about half the size of the large dog area. The under 25 pound limit is definitely not enforced in the small dog area. I often observe very large dog poop piles all over. I like larger dogs and am okay with most of the dogs that are over 25 lbs, but there are a good many times when people bring large pit bulls, staffordahire and mixes of the same to the small dog side. I hear that “My dog won’t bite” jazz a good bit, but anyone with experience with dogs and common sense knows that dogs are animals, and as such can become triggered and behave aggressively when around other people or dogs they don’t know. Regardless of how much an owner of this type of breed goes on about how their dog is special, these breeds of dogs were BRED TO KILL, and one can at any time see multiple news stories daily of those breeds killing people too. Most people know better than to approach an owner of an animal of this breed - not because they are braver and tougher than others as they would like portray themselves to be, but because they have already proved themselves utterly disrespectful of others by entering the small dog area in the first place so the contentious outcome of asking them to take their dog to the large dog area where they belong is foreseeable. I have found that most of them tend to be pathetic bullies, and seem to prefer their dogs to be the biggest, baddest fish in the smaller pond where they and their aggressive breed dogs can dominate and intimidate others and their small dogs who belong there. Would be great if police patrolling the area (and happen to not be dealing with other issues at the time) could just pop in level set from time to time to enforce the rules of the park.

Very nice dog park with a very large area for dogs to run and play. There's a water station and they also have bags in case you forget your own to pick up after your dog (some owners need to use these bags).
They have a nice tarp covered area with benches for shade. There are picnic tables on the far side of the park under trees for an additional shaded area. Very please with this park.

On 10/27/24 at approximately 11:45 am, I visited Saladino Dog park with my dog, who was leashed upon entry as we approached the fenced area. Unfortunately, we were immediately approached by a French bulldog whose owner stood by, smiling, while her dog growled and acted aggressively toward mine. My dog was visibly distressed, trying to avoid the other dog, but the owner made no attempt to control her pet or show any regard for our comfort and safety. As a responsible pet owner, I found this behavior troubling.

Florida law states that dog owners are required to exercise proper control of their pets in public places to prevent aggressive incidents and ensure safety (Florida Statute 767.04). As outlined in Florida’s dog-bite laws, dog owners can be held liable for injuries caused by their dog if the pet behaves dangerously or unpredictably, even if no bite occurs. It’s disappointing that this owner disregarded these basic standards, creating an unsafe environment for my dog.

Ultimately, I had to leave the park to protect my dog. Please consider your dog’s behavior and the comfort of other pets and owners before allowing them off-leash.

I’d appreciate it if Saladino Dog Park management could consider putting up reminders to help reinforce respectful and responsible pet handling for everyone’s safety.

Great dog park. The people are super friendly, and the dogs are even friendlier. Greatnplace to exercise your fur baby. There is a side for smaller dogs, just in case.
