The legendary Manhattan Transfer performed last night (10/16) - such a beautiful theatre! Jenny & the staff were so warm, friendly and helpful! Amazing audience! Acoustics out front were terrific and the amenities Backstage were too! Be sure to check out other events in this beautiful (haunted) venue! I think they also do weddings & other social events. It will be a gorgeous venue for weddings!

A wonderful building transformed, preserved. What an excellent reuse of a historic building, showing it can be done beautifully. I applaud the attention to detail, history and the architecture in breathing life back into this building!
This is a gorgeous edifice. More importantly — still extant.
This proves old buildings can be transformed and take on new roles, without being razed to make new parking lots.

Sat in balcony for The Manhattan Transfer. Good sound quality and ambiance. a beautiful venue. My only complaint is that as you entered the venue traffic flow was disorganized and congested with box office line crowding one side and bar service crowding the other.

Great venue. Went to see Liv Warfield and it was a great show. Only issue was that the website seemed to show that the upper seating has aisles on the outsides. This is not true, you are hard up against a wall

Absolutely beautiful historic building, with a friendly, helpful event staff. Most of the seating is tiered so you shouldn't have a problem seeing the show. There are a few different balconies and VIP seats. The highest balcony is three flights of stairs up, but I did see a stair lift for mobility scooters. I would recommend contacting the venue in advance if you need special assistance, but this is a handicap accessible building. There is ample parking on site as well.

Although the building is beautiful and the stage area was festive, we were disappointed at the show we attended last night. I read the seating wrong when I picked out spots to sit. We were in the last row (M) of the middle level. These seats required several steps to reach and then several more to use the bathroom. This last row also has absolutely no room for our legs. We are tall. The other rows have more room for legs. Worse than the steps and lack of leg room was the temperature. Extremely cold air was blowing straight down on us! We had to keep our coats on and wear our hats and scarves. The people around us wore their coats and hoods I understand the need for ventilation as a COVID precaution but freezing cold air is not the answer.
The vocals were hard to hear. A mixed drink was $9.00 and the white lights were blinding.
However, the staff was friendly, bathrooms were clean and parking was convenient.
Please consider a discount for row M and a different way to dispense the freezing cold air.

The recent Walter Trout show was absolutely fabulous. Walter was in blistering blazing form and his touring band of seasoned players complimented perfectly. It was a perfect night at a perfect venue.

The Scottish Rite is such a handsome structure - seating was more comfortable than any other venue in Central Illinois - every seat is a great seat - and the acoustics are perfection!

I'll close with this: the staff at the Scottish Rite couldn't have been more professional and friendly and helpful! In a time, unfortunately, where most businesses and many employees could care less about customer service, the staff at the Scottish Rite get it. They were all smiles and THEY helped set the tone for the amazing experience that was to come.

Thank you to everyone at the Scottish Rite
and thank you Walter Trout - rock on brother.

Small historic venue with much charm and a good place for a smaller concert. The seating is less than desirable unfortunately, especially in the upper balcony. The chairs are so close together in the rows that you can’t fit your legs without sitting strattled.
The VIP side balconies are not chairs at all. They are bar stools with very low backs on them. Incredibly uncomfortable for a 2-3 hour concert. The individual chairs on the main floor that they set up and take down are definitely the ones to reserve if you are attending an event. The parking lot is incredibly tight so if you have a larger vehicle you may want to find street parking.
